The Greater Accra Regional Police Commander, DCOP Christian Tettey Yehonu, has directed authorities of the Synagogue Church of all Nations to quit hosting revivals at their Spintex auditorium in Accra.
Speaking to Citi News, DCOP Yehonu noted that the stampede that occurred at the weekend could have been avoided if the church had chosen a bigger venue to hold its events.

Four people died on Sunday as a result of a stampede at the Synagogue Church of all Nations. The stampede occurred as people struggled to secure a position to receive holy water blessed by the Presiding Prophet, T.B Joshua.

Mr Tettey Yehonu indicated that, “the place was too small to manage a congregation of this magnitude”, and suggested that the Accra Sports Stadium or the independence square were more suitable alternatives to handle a crowd of that magnitude.

Meanwhile, officials of the Church who say this is the first time people have died in any of their services worldwide, have told Citi News they did all in their power to save the situation.

Reverend Sam Mc-Canan is a Reverend at the Synagogue Church of all Nations in Accra said: “The happening yesterday at Spintex is unprecedented, we are used to crowds and huge numbers but not something like this. We are a crowd puller, but we are not used to a number like this. This is a first of this kind, and we are very devastated about it”.

“…We are going to do a thorough work to ensure this does not repeat itself. Everything started orderly this morning, until 30 minutes when we heard a stampede outside the office”.

“We went outside then saw some casualties lying outside there, and others trampled over. We cancelled the meeting and called the national ambulance to intervene”.

Hallo Ck,

How exactly was the church banned in Ghana? The venue they were asked not to use could hardly qualify as TBJ's church. Anyways, this is just a mere change in venue as against a total ban in Ghana...

I am confused about this god who cannot save his children from
1 - Natural disasters
2 - Bombings by people who are allegedly worshiping the wrong god.
3 - Stampeding themselves thereby murdering their own people.

i wonder why some of you are shouting goodnews goodnews. the story is completely different from the headline. TB Joshua's church is not banned in ghana; its simply a change in location due to crowded population.

Title modified. Original title (T.B Joshua's Church Banned From Hosting Revivals In Ghana) was wrong & misleading.
Re: Ghanaian Police Commander Orders SCOAN To Host Activities In Bigger Venues by chuksoyo21(m): 7:13pm On May 21, 2013
The caption here is very misleading. The venue just couldnt house the people in attendance and stampede resulted.
Its a clear issue.
May soul of those who died rest in peace!

pillzthadrugz: Do you mean to tell me that T.B Joshua didn't see it coming?

Yea, He sees football results in faraway South Africa. Then tells Keshi not to allow the opponents score first..

He also sees champions league final in faraway Germany and knows that a bald man will score.

But Ghana is our neighbour here and TB Joshua caanot see the stampede.

But what I just can't understand is the dislike and hatred for the man! If you don't care for someone then simply ignore him/ her.
Abi another thing dey with people and this man? Some were just commenting happily without understanding that the title was different from the real news!
