Re: What Does Nairaland Need Right Now? by Omotaday(m):
A new management or a competent hand.

I have watched Nairaland transform from a platform of intellect and vital discussions into an hotbed of fake news, false information and propaganda. When you see such and report, nothing is done.

We used to have many intellects but now we have people like Botragelad with their other multiple accounts spreading false information and spamming the front page as if It’s Seun himself running those accounts.

Not sure nairaland is redeemable, as evident in the drastic fall in website traffic. Try your luck and sell it.

Re: What Does Nairaland Need Right Now? by yok: 1:01am On Apr 15, 2025
THIS IS A GOOD QUESTION
You actually say what is in our mind. All these people that are attacking each other have made the forum to be less reliable for news. For me, I just visit my regular forums (so only our various forum is making us visit Nairaland everyday) and I am off.

Please you need to be banning all these people that are attacking others. Especially when people are saying what is obvious about the difficult things in the Country: Light is worst, things are abnormally expensive etc. Then people supporting the Government will come and say it is not True, so all these Government PR people need to be banned more frequently.

Thanks.

So many things,
Just like reddit we can start with restrictions for newly created accounts that start spamming every section 1 minute after creation.

The interface is fine ( functional), we really just need more features.

Also Users should have badges, been on NL making meaningful contribution for years should counthuh

Hello Guys,

I'm throwing this question to you because it's very important. Every time I ask, "how is Nairaland?" I'm told that it is fine. If I ask what are the challenges I'm told there are none.

So I need to talk to you guys directly about what you think is going on and what you want us to do. I have not had the confidence to make major changes on Nairaland. I have a little confidence now because of AI.

What are your complaints, your challenges, your issues. What are the things that can drive people away and need to be nipped?

Speak your mind, but don't be rude. Thanks.

Zero tolerance for Tribalism, it’s making this forum less interesting.

Complete system overhaul.
Make it look something like Quora or reddit website.

Have zero tolerance for tribal hate and also create the dislike button

I shuttle between here and another for news and gossip, couldn't help noticing how far behind NL is with most of the news. Please bring it as it's hot grin

Restrict posters' ability to delete a whole thread. It's fine to delete a post but a whole thread should not be allowed.

As the we enter into the future, it will be nice to see some posts monetization wink

.... put a red warning label/sticker on the moniker of every tribal retard after their 2nd tribal tirade -that way decent people will not see their trash. That will be more effective than banning them !

Your moderators are wack, they don't push deserved threads to the front page, sometimes some threads on the front page don't attract up 10k views
Is this not SHAMEFUL

Whoever been telling you nothing NL need dey deceive you..

As for me 'dislike 👎' button and 'Delete Account' button...

Offenders of bigotry, tribal and religion bias should be banned for ten years.

Offenders of hateful comments should be banned and comments deleted..

The mods should stop pushing nonsense to the front page...I mean, stop pushing NONSENSE to front page! angry undecided

Add a dislike button.
Let there also be a drop down to show the names of monikers who have liked, disliked and shared.

Add option to create polls.

But most importantly, hand out life bans for all tribalistic posts. Your great site has been overrun by thousands of cheap meaningless tribalistic posts. It is destrying your value big time. Also life-ban monikers that are in themselves tribalistic. Do this ceaselessly until they get tired. Its a major operation.

Finally there are many bots on the site progarmmed to automatically respond in favor of certain political parties. Get rid of them ALL.

I can't log in my first account @ judedwriter because I couldn't access my email.

I tried changing my email on my old phone but it read it can't be changed.

Please work on how to change email, probably I can go back to my first account.

Also nairaland is overdue for monetization 💰.

You can empower many creative youths and still make more money.

We know it is the MODs from Biafur0

Seun should do psychiatric and mental evaluation for them. They NEVER got over the loss of Peter Obi, NEVER will.

Imagine a MOD actually pushed "Skull Miner" in a thread and pushed it to the FP.

Seun, you need to find that MOD, flog him publicly before sacking him. Because he means you harm, trust me!

yarimo:
1- Some of your mods are banning without telling you the rules broken or just because you spoke against their opinion
2- Some mods are good at pushing false news to front page just because they don't like certain politicians, even after pressing rules 8 the news will not be taking down
3- some monikers don't have anything to do here , rather than trolling and calling a nairalander with different names and your mods are not doing anything about it

You killed Nairaland by making one religion adherents to comment on topics relating to another, but restrict the others from doing same on topic related to the other.

Leave it like this some of us like the old and classic straightforward way. Let's b bashing ourselves well, u see that rubbish thing u did that whenever u wanna comment on Moslem writeups u have to swear first, ur brain needs total examination. When it comes to Christians u write freely without hindrance, to me u are worse than boko haram.

Answer the question seun asked and keep shut.
Stop reading people's complaints/comments and attacking them like it was referred to you.

You are a man not a woman or are u that jobless?

Seun himself is reading every comment and haven't said a word.

Make the search functionality better.

Why limit results to 20 pages?
Re: What Does Nairaland Need Right Now? by BABANGBALI: 1:31am On Apr 15, 2025
Introduce monthly subscription so as to separate serious minded people like me from the noise makers like mannabbqgrils, ajepako and co. Also get rid of all your moderators. Most of them are feeling like gods. Finally, do something about Christians taking oaths before commenting or posting on the Muslim forum. Why are the Muslims not being asked to do same on the Christians forum? I don't think this is fare.

Thank you for your honest request. To be very sincere, the name NAIRALAND will expire after Jaga Jagaban in office. Begin to plan for a new name. I have some suggestions but that will be for another day.
