PRESIDENT Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Monday flagged off the Section 3A/3B of the Lagos-Calabar 750km Coastal Highway in Cross River state Section of the road, with a continuously reinforced concrete pavement being constructed by HITECH Construction Company Limited is expected to be completed within 36 months.

Speaking in Awi, Akamkpa LGA, Cross River state during the Flag off Ceremony of the Construction of the 65km : 3 lane dual carriage way, as Component of the 750km Coastal Highway, the President represented by Cross River State Governor , Senator Bassey Otu described the coastal highway as an economic enabler , job creation booster , intra and inter regional integration linkage.


Also speaking ,the Minister for Works , Sen. David Umahi noted that only a President like Bola Ahmed Tinubu can carry out such a huge project because he has the capacity , and also a completely detribalized President noting that it takes audacity to embark on a project of this magnitude.

Although the pump price of fuel was N197 when President Bola Tinubu took over on May 29, 2023, the product now sells for N617 per litre – less than two months after.

In his inaugural address, Tinubu announced that subsidy was gone, fulfilling a promise that all leading presidential candidates made during the campaign.

However, pump price of fuel hit N537 per litre days after Tinubu ended subsidy.

On Tuesday, the price climbed further to N617, a development that the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited (NNPCL) attributed to “market forces”.

Nigerians have been lamenting the hardship occasioned by fuel price hike. Amid the lamentation, a video where Tinubu campaigned to slash the price of fuel went into circulation.

Checks by Daily Trust affirmed the authenticity of the video uploaded on the YouTube page of Channels Television.

At his campaign rally in Abeokuta, Ogun State capital, on January 25, 2023, Tinubu spoke on a number of issues, but those of fuel scarcity and naira redesign made the headlines.

However, Tinubu who spoke in Yoruba language, also assured the crowd that though people were saying petrol price would hit N200, it would be reviewed downward under him.

“The great Nigerian youths, the great Nigerian students, the confident Nigerian youths. This is a revolution. This election is a revolution. They are plotting, but they will fail. They said fuel price will increase and reach N200 per litre. Go and relax, we will bring it down,” he had said in the 7th minute of the video.

King Wasiu Ayinde Marshall, a Fuji musician who performed at the rally, interrupted the president’s speech with chants as the crowd cheered.

On the campaign podium with the president were Vice-President Kashim Shettima; Pa Bisi Akande, interim National Chairman of the APC; Femi Gbajabiamila, Chief of Staff to the President; Senator Gbenga Daniel; among other bigwigs of the ruling party.

Tinubu went further to say Nigerians would defy the acute fuel scarcity at the time and trek to cast their votes.

I was on the Lekki Ikoyi Link Bridge the other day and remember how fashola was dragged, called names, and even taken to court for that bridge.

But now we all use the bridge and applaud the convenience it has brought.

Same as the Lagos-Calabar ongoing construction. Same as the Uyo stadium.

Many allow their bias; many times, political bias to blind them. They exalt leaders of UAE for building Dubai, but cuss the Nigerian govt for Lagos-Calabar, something that will generate fortune in years to come, like the Link Bridge, like the Eko Atlantic. They call it a waste.

After the cross river eventually started,they are like why not bringing down fuel price first bla bla ,this coming from supporters of a candidate who claim he will devalue naira and start borrowing to defend it on national TV and also claim to remove fuel subsidy on day 1.

Like they don't even understand the manifesto of their messiah,they just wanted to see an IPOB president

Clowns instead of showing photos of people why not show the ones you claimed to have completed? Common sense but the failures will prefer lies and propaganda than working for the people because they know they are an illegitimate government without support from more than 90% of Nigeria

During the Soviet dictatorship of Joseph stalin. He was a brutal dictator with mind of his own. On one fateful day, stalin came to Politburo meeting with a live chicken. People trooping to Bola Ahmed Tinubu Foundation offices to collect branded One kilo bag of Rice & Noddles. Did you see the number of people of all ages who troop out to welcome Ex- convict James Ibori to South South! Do you see the number of handle mop following obi as if he is a seat? what of the one following dino malaye?
