1- Some of your mods are banning without telling you the rules broken or just because you spoke against their opinion

2- Some mods are good at pushing false news to front page just because they don't like certain politicians, even after pressing rules 8 the news will not be taking down

3- some monikers don't have anything to do here , rather than trolling and calling a nairalander with different names and your mods are not doing anything about it
Your number 2 point is very accurate. Some of the mods openly allow their ethnic kinsmen to insult others and use toxic hate speech right under the thread posts the moderator created and they see these posts and refuse to ban them for the clear hate speech.

I think the dislike button will be a good add-on. such that it removes from the number of likes and vice versa. This will be more engaging and fun.

Lots of things bruh...

Functional APP.

Strict on cyber-bullies

Strict on tribalists/ethnic profiling

Dislike button

More enlightening hot topics (skill-wise) as it were back in the days before the sudden tsunami on your Database breach.

NL should start competing with other contemporary SM platforms like Twiter.

Easy to navigate ad space/breakdown of procedure

Let me seize this opportunity to appreciate you for this platform, it has been an awesome platform to me (think am addicted to it). Way back 2010 as a 200L student. It has imparted me beyond tertiary education.
Thanks Seun.

Create a standard app so it can go global.
Nairaland land should be the name of the app in any country, either in Ghana Cameroon, Togo, south African, Germany. ETC

Get Investors for Nairaland but maintain highest share like 55%. I was shocked to hear that Nairaland and Facebook at some point had similar number of users.

By the time you bring in Investors, they will come with creative ideas to improve the platform. I can tell you that what facebook is today is not really about Mark's idea only but people continue bringing idea to improve the platform.

I know Nigeria lacks this mental ability to wrap their head around someone coming to tell you how to run a business you founded but this is the way foreign companies thrived for centuries. Most of the biggest international brand we know today have no connection with the founder. Some their generation are just enjoying dividends. That being said

1. Dislike button
2. Restricting people from commenting on your thread
3. Deleting aggressive comment under one's thread
4. Getting notifications of content posted by those you are following
5. Direct DMs

A lot can be done, just get people on board. You will make more money sef.

It is better to co-own a business where you make 10m per month personally than to be a one man business where you hardly make 500k per month.

Check out many Nigerian companies of old lesson 1970 and 1960 backward most of them are not existing again many of the rich people then their children are no where to be found today if we should look at some strong businesses and hospitals most of them closed immediately they founder died. Sometimes sef the children are not interested in it. And once that happens the business close.

Bring in Investors

You are asking as if you are ready to fix it!

Just get serious about cleansing this forum.

Nairaland has been reduced to the battlefield of tribalists.

Clean it up!!!
Well, Nigeria has over 321 ethnic groups with 500 languages. You can't expect everyone to get along.
I'm alone speaking with you because we both understand English, but English is a colonial language forced upon us in Nigeria. It was never out choice to form the country or speak the language.
Everything was forced.

Hello Guys,

I'm throwing this question to you because it's very important. Every time I ask, "how is Nairaland?" I'm told that it is fine. If I ask what are the challenges I'm told there are none.

So I need to talk to you guys directly about what you think is going on and what you want us to do. I have not had the confidence to make major changes on Nairaland. I have a little confidence now because of AI.

What are your complaints, your challenges, your issues. What are the things that can drive people away and need to be nipped?

Speak your mind, but don't be rude. Thanks.

Personally, I feel a portrait of His Excellency, President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR) should be included on the front page.

Justification for such is that, never a time in history has the country had a leader who supports and welcomes social media criticism. Also, being same time the best we had since independence, it will be a great honor to have his portrait on the front page.

How will it go global when you guys don't even get along, there's always tribalism and religious bigotry happening here... Already some of your people have dedicated their lives to be trolling every South African they see on this forum unprovoked and they'll obviously do the same thing with other nations.

They're gatekeeping this forum and we're always reminded of how it's their forum and we're not welcome here while the mods just watch... As long as this forum is still under Suen's ownership, I don't see it ever going global... Many popular social media platforms were created around the same time as nairaland, but they're now global due to good management.

@Seun

First off, newly created Nairaland moniker names MUST be properly screened individually by an exclusive moderator before allowing them to use this web site 3 days later. A lot of fake monikers were created or coined using abusing words against other ethnic groups and even one moniker was created by an ethnic bigot to insult you. Just as an example, monikers coined such as @Seunisafool OR @Yaribastards (which means Yoruba bas@tards is used to taunt and insult Yoruba folks as bas@tards by known well-known ethnic bigots and trolls who have strong links to Ipob who have already created many fake NL monikers for trolling and posting hate speech) on this Nairaland website MUST NEVER be allowed on this Website again.

Second, you have to play a day-to-day interest in this Website because all is NOT well with the invasion of paid trolls since early 2014 who want to destabilize Nairaland.

Overhauling of the entire website. It needs new User interface. Desktop experience is still as it has been since I joined over 14 years ago.

Creating a mobile app won’t be a bad idea.

Remove moderators. They’re biased. At least few.

Encourage true free speech and eliminate hate speech.

Account holders shouldn’t be ghosts.

Let members be able to send an inbox message directly without having anything to do with mails to each other.

Why is Muslim thread blocked for other religions to comment?..
Is nairaland a racist platform that is one sided?..
Any topic that made it to FP Should be for all members to comment on..not just their religion.

There should be bookmark button where members can bookmark their topic of interest..

Very annoying of you asking Christians to swear to some nonsense oath before commenting on a Moslem thread whereas the moslems freely comment on Christian threads without swearing to nothing!
That's religious bigotry, man.

@Seun

Nairaland campaign payment for subscription is totally terrible.

It takes 3 days for payment made to reflect in your account after sending every payment details and calling the number

Many times, the person (which I assume it's you) will say he driving, he traveled.

Very archaic and irresponsible way of doing anything.

Infact I get discouraged to subscribe because of the stress involved.

Nairaland and AI are 2 very unrelated online environments. While AI is human relating with programs, Nairaland is human-to- human engagements, it can never be relatable to AI.
But speaking on what more we need, we need more FREEDOM! More freedom where we can create sub groups or form associations or a form of niche where we can micro-interact more without bans and all forms of restrictions.
This is what I think we need and may be a VOICE NOTE feature for replies and short video clips, if it will not weigh down the site.
Other than these... Nairaland is my homepage.
