The state judiciary said that George was compulsorily retired for misconduct and not due to political developments in the state.https://saharareporters.com/2025/04/15/rivers-state-judiciary-says-chief-magistrate-george-compulsorily-retired-misconduct-not?fbclid=IwY2xjawJrK3FleHRuA2FlbQIxMAABHlURkMj1bmWF-9-s_7LUDOlJXFfNyPCJVULdzbWUF_x3hxIN7BZsHrCuoY55_aem_rkalM63FfhGZ-zm-a4q1iQ Previous Thread: https://www.nairaland.com/8398361/chief-magistrate-george-voluntarily-retires

Sensational! If he was sanctioned as stated, them he's not fit to be called chief judge. Absenteeism is summary dismissal. |

I for fear sey e resign because of Fubara o! It's almost unheard-of to find someone just resigning voluntarily in Nigeria. Our principle is: "we die here!" whatever be the circumstances. So for this judge to just resign because of some phoney excuses has more to it than meet the eyes. Abi, no be Naija we dey again? @hotseat |

Warmaterial:Some chief magistrate resigned his job because a solad was appointed? I had my doubts when I saw the post yesterday. I'm inclined to believe the government on this one. |

Must the man's name be included in the headline or thread title?? Because it ended up giving the impression that they wanted to write magistrate judge, whereas it's George the man's surname that is the focus. |

He should be arrested for misleading the people. Such a character is a cankerworm to our democratic process and not fit for celebration. He's better off cooling his stinking ass in jail. |

Maxymilliano:Platuea is boiling. Ditto Benue. But that of Rivers state, it took questionable pipeline explosion in far away Ogoni land for Gov. Sim to be suspended illegally by Tinubu. Uptil date, Nigerians haven't been told on the outcome of the investigation of the pipeline that blew up. If it blew up on account of old age. As if that was not enough, the Sole Admin, is busy playing to the gallery by dissolving and bringing in the cronies of an interested party in the Rivers impasse. Isn't Tinubu wonderful. Even OBJ never toed this path in Ekiti and Plateau State by dismantling the structure of the suspended governor. And yet people keep saying Tinubu is a democrat. One thing I know for sure, is that, if Abacha could be history today, one day Tinubu will also be history. And History will judge him on his clear partisanship on the issue of Rivers state. |

mrksquare:Stop lying. Demolishing state house of assembly is a reasonable felony. He should thank God that the president took that bold step, if not he will have been impeached because the authentic house of assembly will have got him impeached. |

Obaofaba:Was that also a ground for his suspension? But the destruction of the House of Assembly transpired over a year ago. And I aware the issue of culpability has been thrown away by the Federal High court You think impeaching a governor or President is a walk in the park? Are you in Nigeria or in living in Mars? |

No wonder I found it difficult to believe the news when it first came out yesterday. This is another reason we shouldn't jump at any conclusion without proper verification |

Who lied? Maduenyi said George was compulsorily retired, while the resignation letter displayed here shows that George voluntarily retired stating clearly the premise and reasons for his action. Maduenyi is double tongued here! |

The blatant lies and cover up from this govt is mindboggling. They think everybody is stupid as they. You said that Judicial Commission found him guilty of misconduct and opted for COMPULSORY retirement with EFFECT from 10th Feb.,2025. Then, you still allowed him to preside over judicial matters till he quit the shamble called the judiciary on April 11 before you hurriedly concocted the counter to deceive the public as usual. The person that wrote that nonsense is a joke of the season. |
