How do you restrict other people who you think have different beliefs from commenting on a particular topic? that they most recert a particular word before they can comment on the topic.
Since nairaland started the shit, I loose interest.

Hello Guys,

I'm throwing this question to you because it's very important. Every time I ask, "how is Nairaland?" I'm told that it is fine. If I ask what are the challenges I'm told there are none.

So I need to talk to you guys directly about what you think is going on and what you want us to do. I have not had the confidence to make major changes on Nairaland. I have a little confidence now because of AI.

What are your complaints, your challenges, your issues. What are the things that can drive people away and need to be nipped?

Speak your mind, but don't be rude. Thanks.
Just remove that nonsensical oath before one can comment in the Muslim thread.

Add a dislike button.
Let there also be a drop down to show the names of monikers who have liked, disliked and shared.

Add option to create polls.

But most importantly, hand out life bans for all tribalistic posts. Your great site has been overrun by thousands of cheap meaningless tribalistic posts. It is destrying your value big time. Also life-ban monikers that are in themselves tribalistic. Do this ceaselessly until they get tired. Its a major operation.

Finally there are many bots on the site progarmmed to automatically respond in favor of certain political parties. Get rid of them ALL.
It’s been a while, I can’t believe Deepsight is still here on the forum. Great to see you.

Okay, I have to log in to comment on this. I have decided to always view nairaland as guest as to how often my account eventually get log outs. That brings me to my first point, Nairaland really needs an App!

I think Nairaland also needs an Upvote button, instead of the like button. This way, more upvoted comments get more views and are pushed more higher instead of this 'first to comments' bullshktt. The first page of front page threads are always filled with bigot, extremist and politically sponsored comments. In as much as I read through, I know the best comments about a thread are always in 2nd to 3rd page of the thread.

Finally, I think nairaland also needs to give the option to delete contents users posted on their platforms. No sort of privacy or whatsoever for things you post on Nairaland. So If I created a thread and it was quoted and reply on, at the present it remains on Nairaland server on public sphere even if you deactivate your account!

It's mostly Millennials that are still on the platforms and I can assure you their preferences will eventually change if things are not done fast.

Oga Patapata Seun I hail oo

Firstly Nairaland is good as it is and your mods are good too as you know how stiff-necked and ignorant some Nigerians can be without knowing it so your mods are doing a good job in managing dem dem grin but NL could be better if the following things are considered and implemented.

1. Dislike button should be added to counter those liking rubbish Mumudients things.

2. Where does share button really share tohuh We should be able to decide where we share topics or comments to.

3. Phone number should be included and used to verify users to prevent spam account creations but of course hidden from frontend.

4. There should be swearing that you are a Christian on Christian topics before commenting and on Ifa religion topics too just as it is on Islamic topics or it should be scrapped although after all this is a public faceless forum.

5. Add Direct Messaging DM function at least tribal war can be done there grin and save us from bigots who take presidential elections as tribal and religious war "yes daddy" comes to mind grin

6. Prevent people from editing other people's comments to say something else when they are quoting it. That mannerbbq guy comes to mind grin

7. Monetize all those signature spaces to increase revenue to Nairaland. "See my siggy" should be at a price grin

8. Create a "fine bara" category exclusively for corporate beggars grin if they'll use it to post their "daddy and mummy please don't scroll past these 'lies'" derailing topics upandown grin

9. Create an analysis chart or topic to highlight the most read topic, most liked, shared and 'disliked' comments of the day as the last post of the day.

10. Employ me as a mod. I have tech skills with specialty in software development and AI, I'm a creative thinker and I fear God too. grin

Thank you again for conceptualizing this great Nairaland and the opportunity to contribute to it's betterment. Long live Nairaland, long live Oluwaseun Osewa, long live Omoluabi, long live Nigeria and long live lovers of Nigeria

Create a feature where if I search " floor plan " it'll take me to various floor plans posted on nairaland and not necessarily suggesting "floor" and "plan" separately making scrolling through pages exhausting and tiring.

I remember when Nairaland was my to go
place but not anymore.
The gender based violence and abuse on women is alarming. Ponder on this, how many formerly active women did you still see here?
It's either they are calling women names, evening newspaper, hoe, farm tool and some other dehumanizing names or some morons are derailing interesting topic with their useless "if your wife is not a virgin.......

Secondly, activate direct DM instead of doing it via email. Some of us are using our official email that's why most times I don't accept emails from Nairalanders.

Thirdly activate block, delete buttons.

Finally the rubbish affirmation one must say to comment on Muslim post is arrant nonsense.
Sometimes I have something nice to say on the thread(all of us cannot to religious bigots) but of course you don't expect me to say that affirmation.
If you must keep the affirmation, do same on Christian threads. Failure to do that, Oga Sir, you are part of the problems of Nairaland.

The size of files and documented that Nairaland can accumulate should be upgraded

I'm talking about when I want to post a picture or video, by now nairaland should be able to accommodate larger files to some extent

You’re the owner of a site Mr Seun. If your employees tell you it is fine you yourself will you not check it out as the founder?

Why are you talking like this? Even when people suggest to you the problems which you know very well you keep asking as if you’re actually interested in fixing it. For example do you want to pretend as if you don’t know that people have complained many times about putting an oath on Muslim threads and non for Christian threads? Do you know the religious bias in that?

You already know what to do. If you want to do it, do so …if you don’t want that is your own.

Good afternoon.

Your platform cannot grow as long as you keep suppressing one religion for the other.

My own contribution is different @seun

Birthday rewards to members of Nairaland celebrating birthdays. You can even configure an email to be sent to them. I am ready to partner with you to get create an API that selects and rewards these people. There're websites other there that we can connect and give these rewards.

I am open to partner in implementing this.

Let members be able to send an inbox message directly without having anything to do with mails to each other.

Why is Muslim thread blocked for other religions to comment?..
Is nairaland a racist platform that is one sided?..
Any topic that made it to FP Should be for all members to comment on..not just their religion.

There should be bookmark button where members can bookmark their topic of interest..
I think that would lessen the engagement on the forum and you females would suffer from series of DM from the males .. Hope you're ready
