They are everywhere. Bunch of entitled parasites. That was how I assisted someone in November with money to rent a shop while living in my house. This person went and rented a house instead, never bothered about the shop and moved out. Most annoying was how this person went around spreading falsehood that I gave money and collected it back. Wetin happen?

I sent a guy money around middle of last year he was complaining of his generator not working, and I sent him money to repair his gen, buy fuel, subscribe internet and have something extra. Annoyingly, this guy didn't even ask me directly, he said he wanted to go and carry generator somewhere which I asked him what would the person be using again. I was like instead of inconveniency others, make I assist voluntarily .

Less than 24 hours, my guy was telling me he has exhausted the money that I should assist with more. I just simply told him I sent the last money in my account to him

100k in less than 24 hours when no be say na so I dey see money

Does it matter?

How can someone pay your rent, and you’re only sending them “thanks”, "tnx", "fenx" or "lol" ? Omo, I would report that transaction as a false transaction to my bank, get my money back, and share it with normal human beings.

Someone gave Tony Elumelu a “common” tie, and he posted it on his Instagram for the world to see. That’s genuine gratitude.

Stop normalising psychiatric problems.

May be I might be regarded as an ingrate too. I had a challenge in my business, but due to my good relationship with my supplier he decided to be giving me goods on credit to make payments after sales. A friend abroad was aware of my challenges sent in 100k to assist. I appreciated his kind gesture. Then news got to my supplier who wasn't even aware how much I received, he started acting funny. Stopped supplying me giving some flimsy excuses. But I later learnt from people that he said my friend sent me money but I choose to invest it elsewhere. The supply is worth 1.5m, my business has been down I contacted my guy if he could help me with a loan of 500k explaining my situation but he didn't reply uptil now. I think he has tagged me as an ingrate.

Re: Man Shares Message He Received From An Ingrate He Gave Money by Socratiz: 2:47pm On Apr 15, 2025
I have discovered that you just have to decide that you'd be a good person in his life whether you're appreciated or not.

Let me share my experience.

There's this guy who's a graduate teaching in one primary school where he was being payed 20k per month in the village. His mum is a friend to my wife.

We just thought about the woman and the son and my wife suggested we try to help. So we asked him to come to Lagos.

He lived with us for 7 months before we got him a job with one of the big 4 by God's grace. After 5 months he moved out closer to their office.

Now this guy doesn't bother to say Hi when we meet in church. He just throws away his face and avoids us.

Not that anyone expects a worship if they have been good to you but please show that you appreciate their sacrifice.

Please stop this sense of entitlement.

You lose nothing by acknowledging those who have been good to you.

Even God expects that you say "Thank you" when he blesses you.

Lol... I can relate, but I don't see it as a big deal. Nonetheless, there is a difference between 'thanks', and 'thank you very much, I am very grateful'. The later will make your benefactor do more for you, but the former can make them think twice. Whenever I complete a gig and I receive my credit alert, I always aclnowledge with a 'thank you'. Some people won't see the need since they feel they are getting paid for their services, but I do it all the time because I was raised to acknowledge a kind gesture with a 'thank you', no matter how small.
Sometimes I write credit alert received with thanks. At other times, I continue with I really appreciate it.

I'm not a Yoruba person, but they have a saying, eni dupe ore ano, a ri omiron gba. Meaning someone who said thank you for yesterday good, would receive another one.

The act of being grateful or thankful cannot be overemphasized.
