I don't want to talk about some so called judges character in Port Harcourt mainly. Rarely do they appear in court to handle cases, some of them are notorious for postponing cases months after month that turns to years by flimsy excuses and court arise! becomes a familiar anthem |

What a shame. I knew he was full of it. Anybody worth listening to and not hypocritical, who is criticising the adminstration headed by the sole administrator, should have also criticised the despotic conducts of Fubara in the past. Just as the NBA should return the N300 million to Rivers State. Another Shame. They were mute all through Fubara's lawlessness, only for them to pocket N300 million. |

Now, let us assume and accept the reason given by the Government, that he was Compulsorily Retired (DISMISSAL!) from Service, for Absenteeism. A few issues need re-examining but first, a summary: 1) He was said to be absent from duty, from August 2023 - December 2024. 2) He was recommended to be either asked to retire Voluntarily or be Compulsorily retired. 3) He subsequently claimed to have retired Voluntarily (as recommended) in April 2024 and published his Retirement Letter 4) Govt claimed he has been dismissed since February 2024. QUESTIONS: a) Why did the Government chose Compulsory Retirement, over Voluntary Retirement (the latter will make the Judge loose his benefits)? b) Knowing the Nigerian Judiciary as a hotbed of Corruption, No Judge will absent himself from the Bench, for 18Months as stated, without a compelling Reason 9like illness). Its like saying a Policeman Absent himself from Work (Road Blocks, Wetin-you-carry-, Stop-and-search, Bail Condition, "Sweeping and Arrest", etc), for 18Months? Its only crippling sickness that will cause that and even at that, the Policeman will still manage to show face, at east once a Month, to collect his own "share". So, this story that he absented himself from Work for 18months, is either incomplete or absolute bullshyte. c) Why did the Govt not publish that he has been Compulsorily Retired, since February, why wait till now, after the man has just publicly Retired voluntarily and with reasons? d) The Events the Judge stated, as his Reason for Retiring, are more plausible, they are recent events and we all know that Judges have been under undue Pressure and Influence, since Wike started his madness in Rivers State. We all know that Judges in River State have been pressured to rule against Fubara, since such matters are domiciled in State High Courts (where this Judge sits!) and they have refused to rule against Fubara. We have also seen how Federal High Courts in Abuja who are not supposed to have Jurisdiction over State matters (like LGA Elections), have "assumed" jurisdiction and been dishing out orders, but sought and unsought. In this regard, the weight of belief resides with the Judge's Letter. e) Even if we assume he as absent from duty, there are thousands of Civil Servants, especially in the Ministries, who are even living outside the Country for the last three to five years (l am not in support of this) and they have not been compulsorily retired. Why is it that it is the High Court Judge in this Wike Vs. Fubara issue, that gets retired over it? And why is it coming at this material time? If it walks like a Duck and quacks like a Duck, it is almost certainly a Duck! This present Government is doing things that are alarming and shocking to the ear. When a Drum sounds too loud, it is about to tear. |
