Why Did You Deliberately Starve Yourself? by helinues(op): 7:29am On Apr 13, 2025
Yes, those of you who fasted both Muslim and Christian. Why did you starve yourself observing fasting when you knew you will return back to sin after. You could have continued with your sins without fasting. You can't fast for 30 days and still return back to your old ways.

You shouldn't have starved yourself all in the name of fasting

Well it can save lives

Because someone who is a killer may not kill while fasting...

Or a thief, or a liar, or a rapist, or bandit kidnapper, herdsmen, ritualists

So if it doesn't help them it can help their potential victims

Their potential victims would still remain potential as they are only waiting for the fasting to be over

What then is the purpose of deliberately going hungry

Humans are created to sin! After committing sins then we should be quick to repentance!

We sin, we repent! We keep working on ourselves!

The truth is there is a general fasting that God demanded from all His people but it's so sad that only one religion teaches it and even where it's been taught many are still battling with their flesh on how to continue in this kind of fasting.

This is the fast that I choose: To remove the fetters of wickedness, To untie the bands of the yoke bar, To let the oppressed go free, And to break in half every yoke bar; It is to share your bread with the hungry, To bring the poor and homeless into your house, To clothe someone naked when you see him, And not to turn your back on your own flesh. Isaiah 58:6-7
Let's analyze it one after the other!

*FAST to remove the fetters of wickedness: stop planning evil towards your neighbor.

*FAST to untie the bands of yoke bar: give your workers some time off to attend to other important things.

*FAST to let the oppressed go free: stop oppressing others.

*FAST to break in half every yoke: make sure your workers are not overused.

*FAST to share your bread with the hungry: support those who have nothing to eat with the surplus you have.

*FAST bring the poor and homeless into your house: accomodate the less privileged when necessary.

*FAST to clothe someone naked when you see him: buy clothes for those who wear torn clothes.

*FAST not to turn your back on your own flesh: never keep grudges with your wife or husband.

It's important to note that this fasting is required as an ongoing practice that has no end among worshipers of the God of Israel and at that time Israelites are not obligated to do the same with those who aren't Israelites. So the first people to be considered when talking about this type of fasting are members of your own religion!

If any brothers or sisters are lacking clothing and enough food for the day, yet one of you says to them, “Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,” but you do not give them what they need for their body, of what benefit is it? James 2:15-16

This is why the Psalmist could say:

Jehovah is my Shepherd. I will lack nothing. Psalms 23:1

It doesn't mean the Psalmist will become extremely rich rather God has included it in the commandments that His worshipers should take good care of their fellow worshipers!

And if the clients also pray for God not to fall as victims, whose prayers would God answer?

Who says that? We live in a broken world—believers still wrestle with sin, but sin doesn't define them.

Proof your point!

Of what value is this repentance they seek if they would return to sin again the next moment? undecided

3. You mean instead, "We sin, we repent, only to sin again,", right? undecided

Yet, reality is, much the same as the Muslims and all those who claim no God, the Christians also sin --may be repent-- only to sin again. 🤔🤔

no one is sinless . If a person become a Christian and repent from his sin. He should not go back to sin. If he sin, he is not a Christian

It is the way you remain blind to even your own bullsheet that astonishes!😩😩😩😩

Assertion A: No one is sinless
Assertion B: A Christian repents from sin.
Assertion C: If A Christian sins, he is not a Christian.

Don't you see that all of your Christian claims are rendered meaningless— literally ideas born of serious delusions— by your initial assertion alone? 🙄🙄🙄

Humans are weak and prone to sin! Sins are not all equal. Some are major and others are minor! Killing a human is not the same as killing a hen even if both their necks are broken!

There's no way a human can walk without the head shaking!

We try our best not to sin! And when we do sin we repent ASAP and try never to repeat that sin!

Again, of what real value is the repentance if one is unable to rid oneself of sin? Why torture oneself with these repentance sessions when one could more easily continue in sin as one is only able to? Saying that not all sins are equal also does not matter since for all sins all that is needed is this repentance sessions, which does not seem to be of any real value from description. undecided

I sha know that you are big sinner! And everyone is! But the sin varies! And no man/Jinn is free from sin!

Are these not your words? If humans are created to sin and unable to escape sinning as a result of this, doesn't it make it then OK to sin? undecided
