I've witness this before in benin along airport road at same hour. They move from as far as Oko road down to Oluku by pass. This is a distance of almost 40km or more.

They ar bringing the war to u guys

Abroad, if there is a need to transport them, they are moved in trucks and trailers from one grazing pasture to another.

All countries i visited, including South Africa, I never saw cows allowed to roam or moved in such nomadic and dangerous manner through where people inhabit and move about.

I keep wondering why you people keep lowering the already poor standards of leadership across this 3rd world country.

One thing many don't know is that most of these cows are owned by prominent southerners, especially politicians and retired service men.

Why is he complaining? Nobody is on the road by that time so no acccusation of traffic.

No grass is on the road so no accusation of destroying farmers crops.

this is true. When i was serving in abia state i encountered them when they came to my PPA. The cows belonged to the village high chief. For every two cows born they get rewarded with one. No salary. Imagine

Most times the herders own those cows, and traverse the lenght and breath of everywhere looting, maiming and usurping communities, using cows as disguise. Every bad news, who do you hear?

Most times you see these herders with their cows in the middle of nowhere, in thick forests...the cows belong to the herders in most cases.

Southern Nigeria People need to wake up

Besides, do you really think they should move through the city during the day, when there's a huge chance of accidents and other problems?

They're being responsible and moving at night, and you meat-eaters are criticizing them?

Is that the best way? Maybe not, they could've used a trailer, or even slaughtered the cows there and moved the beef in a refrigerated truck. And passed the extra cost on to you guys – maybe at double or triple the price of beef now.

Anti-grazing law should be implemented and indiscriminate herding/ movement of cows should banned.It is an eyesore to see cows being herded cities and towns.

Animal husbandry and livestock farming are not done this way.

Nigeria has enough lands and space for livestock farmers to do so without disrupting the lives of others.

Nomadic cow husbandry is becoming highly obsolete even among nomadic nations, which Nigeria isn't even one of.


No wonder these nomads now kill and maim farmers as they like.

It is this mentally lazy form of thinking and indulging what makes no sense that has allowed such rubbish get out of hand.

The fear of people who don't look like you, is the origin of your problem.

Are there criminal minded herdsmen? Yes there are, same way we have criminal minded edo, yoruba,igbo or igbira men.

Criminality is not exclusive to any tribe, and it is not empiricaly correct that the herdsmen in Edo, commits more crime than other tribes in Edo state.

Hmmm ....somebody has beef with the administration and this is a move to mess up the community. When rush traffic comes through later the entire road would be covered from the splattering . No time soon to clean up.

If you see them in large numbers at that time, it means they are moving to another base.

Producing beef and dairy products is why people farm cattle. Modern method of breeding cattle is in enclosed farms. Fulani knows this.
But in Nigeria, seazing people's territory is the only reason why Fulani has refused to do modern method of producing beef and dairy.
Why can't lawmakers make law to prohibit movement of cattle on public roads and on other people's property?

If the National Assembly can't make such a law, division of Nigeria into more manageable countries is inevitable.

The same lawmakers that some of them own cows will be the ones to make the laws?
