Unfortunately there's no rivers state government at the moment, so i am guessing when there's one, they would return it. Ibas has no constitutional power to allocate, distribute or recover resources from rivest state.

Except there's a written document where NBA exclusively committed to host the conference in Rivers in return for the donation, nothing that iba can do here. I'm guessing NBA actually wanted to hold the conference in Rivers but decided to change venue after the elected govt was hijacked, they're probably afraid people would think holding the conference in Rivers now shows that the NBA is in support of Tinubu's decision to unilaterally remove elected govt in the state, which they clearly do not support. If there's such document, then NBA should return the funds as they're in breach of the agreement. If there isn't, nothing iba can do to them. This is quite easy to resolve tho, Fubara can release a statement confirming if the money was actually a donation or payment for hosting rights.... don't know where bribery is coming from here tho, nothing wrong with paying for hosting rights, it's done in football all the time so let's dead the bribery allegations.

Even if Rivers Government does not win this case, if they Institute one in court, it will be a dent on NBA and its current leadership. The Rivers State Government can even get an injunction against hosting of the conference which is a bad one for NBA.

NBA was not expecting the govt to call them out, imagine calling a state support gift. This can be used as allegation against Gov. Fubara, the main reason he was fighting the HOA is for him to have liberty to Diss out state funds to any association that visit him or sing his praise at will, only God knows how many others he has given state funds as gift.
