The Rivers State Government has debunked a viral statement claiming that the state's Sole Administrator, Retired Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas, has summoned suspended Governor Siminalayi Fubara and his deputy for an inquiry.

An official of the state government told our correspondent that the statement was fake, saying no such directive had been issued.

The statement, circulated on social media, falsely claimed that Governor Fubara and his deputy, Dr. Ngozi Ordu, were to appear before the state administrator over appointments made in the last two years.
