In any case, as long as there is no State Police, and governors are not directly in control of the security agencies in their states, your point is quite moot.

That's is why I like the comment of this Nairalander and I quote "President Tinubu should give us state police and ban open grazing in its entirety across the length and breadth of Nigeria before the end of his first term.

Any governor that wants Open Grazing should signify in writing and the state should be excluded from the ban.

State police is very very important."

If Mr President can formulate above suggestions to policy, it will go a long way addressing the nation's insecurities.

Ask me as a President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria how can you handle the security challenges of Nigeria
1. I will decentralized the Nigeria police force by creating six Inspector General of police ( one in each geopolitical zone)
2.I will create State police
3 I will ban open grazing across Nigeria..( Empower the state police not only to arrest the headers but to use deadly force against then and their heards.
4 I will secure our boarders by shutting our doors against marauders.
5 I will execute order to remove foreigners who their primary mission intoxthe country is to come and grab our lands.( The use of deadly force again them will be enforced. If they are caught with leather weapons they will surely be eliminated. )
6 Terrorist is a terrorist. Nothing like deradicalisation . Terrorist must die.
7.Executive order against the so called Yahoo boys who are the master mind behind all the ritual killings in Nigeria. Course of income has to be investigated...penalty is death.
8 License to operate as Harbalist, Alfa, and spiritualist will be issued. ..penalty is death
9.Executive order again religious preaching in the public. ..penalty is life imprisonment

Isn't it clear to the blind and audible to the deaf that the Federal government cannot police all Nigeria. And just as they surrendered sole proprietorship of tertiary education in Nigeria decades ago so they will eventually surrender sole ownership of security and the judiciary.

Just that it will cost hundreds, if not thousands of more lives before my fellow citizens give up barking up the wrong tree.

And yet, if they still get voted back into power in the next election, it would say a lot about where we are as a country.

At that point, it becomes clear that the real problem isn’t just the leaders, but the electorate too. If we keep making the same choices, how can we expect different results?

Thank God people like you are seeing, what I have realised for some time, the problem with Nigeria is not leadership but the followers, every one claims to be the better than the current leader only for him to get there and become worse, the so-called democratic and progressives are just opposite of what they claim!! Me am sure Nigerians are not ready to take back their country because this believe that someone special like a saviour is going to come and meet everyone's hypocrisy needs is a fairly tale!!!
