I agree, it will always be a risk factor for those who grew up with visa barriers. Even if logic says otherwise, experience speaks for itself. Exactly. I remember looking at bus options across states and thinking how surreal it felt to even consider them without worrying about sudden visa checks or being turned around. It reminds me of checking routes like Jacksonville on https://coachamerica.com/destinations/jacksonville — the idea that you could just get on a bus and go. For those of us raised with travel anxiety, even that kind of simple route holds a certain symbolic weight. Theflint1: |

Netanyahu: “Today, the dictator of Iran, the Ayatollah Khamenei, posted this. The title is: ‘Why must the Zionist regime, that is Israel, be eliminated from the region?’ So here you have the ruler of Iran openly declaring once again that his goal is to destroy the state of Israel. And the most brazen thing about this is that he issues this while he’s supposedly negotiating peace with the United States. Well, Israel will not be eliminated. What must be eliminated is Iran’s axis of terror and its nuclear weapons program, not only for the sake of Israel, but for the sake of our entire region and for the sake of peace in our world.” Ayatollah crashing out real time,he knows what's coming |

GloriousGbola:Well, that is why the poor will always suffer much greater loss than the affluent who used his abundant financial resources manage his risks long before they crystalize. |

BlueRayDick:Thats what it is something as simple as making sure your tank is full will mean if you have a night emergency where you need to get to a hospital 30km away will not morph into a worse emergency of your car now runs out of fuel in the middle of oshodi at 2am or buying a proper spare tire. or paying for comprehensive insurance |

BlueRayDick:If you have worked in a company run by people who have small sense, as the company is growing, you will se the ogas learning the lessons and starting to adopt risk management methods they would have scoffed at as wasting of money as revenue increases safety and risk management cost money - but they cost much more if you are caught slipping and a minor problem can snowball into a major incident. easy classic example - someone faints in a tank. do you have the winch to pull him out? do you have breathing apparatus? if so you send someone in after him with breathing apparatus. if not someone goes in to retrieve the guy and also faints. repeat until you realize this will not work and report to mgt there are x dead men in a tank. |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by BlueRayDick: 11:20am On Apr 17, 2025 |
GloriousGbola:There's a reason most companies take risk management serious. Like that technician fainting in tank example you gave ; the technician may die begore he's retrieved and that is a potential law suit worth hundred of millions in naira the company will be facing from the technicians family. The company will also have to deal with negative press that comes with such incident. All of which could've been avoided if they just take risk management serious. |

BlueRayDick:There are hundreds if not thousands like that. Nigeria is hell on earth. Any Nigerian that does not actively participate in oppression should get automatic admission to any heaven of his choice in the afterlife. |

afrodoc:It is scary doc. Like they just tagged him with 4 strangers he has never set his eyes on and they claimed those are his robbery gang members Funny thing is : Nothing of serious consequence will happen to the evil police officers who framed him. People wey dey marry police pikin get mind sha. Nigeria na real hell. |

BlueRayDick:This has been happening since way back na. He is just lucky he has social media backing based on his Obidiency. Since I was a kid I have been hearing such stories. Attach an innocent guy to armed robbers was a favourite one. It could be intentional set up or bad luck of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. People being arrested for allegedly stealing radio or TV sets and detained for years pending trial. Trial that would probably never come. |

iamoyindamola:Recently I saw a guy on twitter mocking and talking down on people who celebrate relocation from Nigeria. The guy is clearly an agbado guy based abroad; he was saying he will never understand why Nigerians dey celebrate when they get Visa to Japa when there's really nothing abroad aside hustling in cold weather. I look the guy and others agreeing with in the comment section and I said to myself " Na because Nigeria never happen to them and any of their loved ones ni". If not, they will understand why people celebrate when they escape this jungle. |

BlueRayDick:That's why Raumdeuter wanted to fly from Lagos to Ibadan to avoid herdsmen ![]() Na poor man dey take risk, those with means will eliminate it entirely Few years ago my cousin was going for NYSC in Akure and talking about bus, that's when I called my dad and scolded him for letting his mothers grandchildren take bus all over Nigeria when his mother owns a school that could pay for flight ticket. And that's how the school flew her on all trips for NYSC |

afrodoc:Baba, we got family friend that was once a victim back in the early days of operation sweep in Lagos in the late 90's. Policemen stopped him on the road and wanted to use his danfo to go raid like they normally do, but he refused. He explained to them that he just came out and needed to hustle to make money to recover fuel cost and take something home knowing fully well that their usage of his bus will derail his plans. Because he refused them, they suddenly asked him to come down and conducted a thorough search of his vehicle only to claim they found bullet in his bus. He was framed for armed robbery instantly and was locked up for weeks. He was even moved to the anti-robbery holding cell and thought he would be tried for armed robbery which could lead to death by firing squad. How he was later released is a complete miracle. Make Nigeria no just happen to person ni o |

| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by izzou(m): 1:35pm On Apr 17, 2025 |
GloriousGbola:Night buses are usually cheaper than day. I used the night because I needed to be at Ijora by 8am. If it was during the day, Owerri will be up to 30k plus |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by izzou(m): 1:39pm On Apr 17, 2025 |
iamoyindamola:It's because it is night bus. Nobody go carry you from Lagos to Owerri for 25k, even if na Danfo. See the price for Lagos to Abuja...60k

Ibime:You have said it all, na when money no dey person hand he go dey take unnecessary risk o. When I went for NYSC I thought some of our colleagues who flew to Sokoto and then linked Kebbi and Zamfara by an hour road journey wasted money. Years later I knew they were wise and took their safety serious because they had the means to do so |

BlueRayDick:The same seat. Dem just dey give you discount for your child. You can only carry less than 2 year olds. Any kid older than that must be paid for. No lapping |
