The same state where Akpabio was when won and APC was in federal government. I think is you people who are jittery from these supports from unexpected sources but these source are men of character like he said whose eyes are good and heart are good enough to see a good thing and say it while still being who they are regardless, sources who are not hypocrites who say one thing openly and do something else secretly like phone calls calling an election a religious war and still can't own up to that when exposed. Shame on such a person and on those who support such a man... Shame!!! grin
You're an ethnic bigot.

I'm talking politics, and you're talking bullcrap

The most foolish n lunatic reasoning among all the senseless comment here rpday.

Bobloco:
Gov. Umo Eno is jittery, and I really understand his fears.

He will be seeking re-election in 2027, so he just wants to stay in the good books of the federal government led by Tinubu. This way, the APC in Akwa Ibom, ably led by Senate President Senator Akpabio, won’t pose a strong opposition capable of truncating his re-election bid.

Your comment clearly shows you have nothing meaningful to contribute to the subject, simply because it’s far above your mental capacity to comprehend.

Self preservation. The Governor knows he stands no chance against federal might and Akpabio combined together.
The rigging mechanism that will be deployed in 2027 will sweep most 1st term PDP governors away, especially if Tinubu's wins his re election which is looking inevitable.

Supporting an incumbent has become the sure bet code for returning to a political office.

Nigeria politicians are united by their continuous stay in power AND not by their service to their constituency,

The powers of the 3 arms of Government have been surrendered for patronage.

The Chairman of your PDP Governors forum accompanied Tinubu to Hajj. His son was dragging Atiku by the balls just this week.

As at this morning, we have at least 5 PDP Governors supporting Tinubu openly.

Oyo
Delta
Akwa Ibom
Adamawa
Bayelsa

Pdp has already lost 2027.

No, he is supporting Atiku and Obi.

All the Southern Govs are on same page. He has given them leverage and good money. All the States benefitted more in terms of appointments and finances, that's why they rarely attack the President.

Adeleke and Diri are the only PDP Govs there..
Mba & Lawal-Dare are not interested. They are just siddon look.
Fintiri, Kefas, Muftwang are for Wike
Oborevwori, Makinde, Bala Mohammed, Eno & Sheriff are for Tinubu.

It's a reality everyone knows..... The unifying factor is to stop Atiku at all costs.
The SS/SE Govs will help him with Obi.

Now, they want to use Makinde/Fintiri or Bala Mohammed/Makinde to scuttle Atiku. That's the game, Atiku must not win the ticket.

SDP is Atiku's SPV. If he doesn't get the ticket, El-Rufai will keep one for him.
Kwankwaso is Tinubu 101%.

Yes you are saying the truth..he wants a soft landing in 2027 governorship election.. where he can easily win the election without akpabio and APC giving him much tough time..he is saying this thing for his own selfish interest not the interest of Nigerians and akwa ibom people

He doesn't need to campaign, opposition are doing it for him already. Can you hear what the Governor is saying already?. People like you sit down on social media lying to yourselves. However, the Governors who are beneficiaries of the several projects the President is citing in their states know what the President is doing for them.

-Kiss the truth!
.. and what is the president doing for Nigerians.. putting Nigerians in abject poverty, hunger, hardship, inflation, high costs of living, insecurity,..all those governors are just supporting Tinubu for their selfish interest..they do not care what Nigerians are going through.. poverty, hunger, hardship, inflation, high costs of living , insecurity..the governors do not the interest of Nigerians

Governor Umo Eno is simply playing the mature politics that is obtainable in other regions.

During Governor Udom Emanuel's tenure, the governor fought steadily with APC bigwigs in the state, including the former MD of NDDC (Nsima Ekere), and Akpabio (Minister of Niger Delta), to a point where it affected NDDC projects in the state. Akwa Ibom had no federal presence and gained very little from the FG.

Umo Eno is a technocrat and not a typical Nigerian politician who's blinded by selfish ambition, he knows how to build bridges in order to ensure a win-win situation for the state and political interests of those involved.

If Umo Eno and Apkabio align and have a gentleman agreement, both can win gubernatorial and senatorial elections respectively.

If Tinubu wins the Presidential election in 2027, Akpabio will likely be retained as Senate President in 2027, which is a win for Akwa Ibom if you look at the bigger picture without selfish political interest.

If Umo decides to fight Akpabio and APC, chances are that both big wigs may win their seats in 2027 but such enmity will forge a tight contest that will drive a wedge between them (and their supporters). It'll all be against Akwa Ibom interest and may divide the people further along tribal and political lines.

I respect both men for seeing the need to play mature politics that will bring/drive political benefits to the state by and large. They work together, win their elections in 2027, attract more political appointments and projects from federal level to the state. A win-win!
