What Is The Most Precious Entity You Have Held In You Hands? by McLizbae(op): 10:51am On Apr 05, 2025
A wise man factually said: a man's fantasy is another man's reality/way of life. Based on this we can say will, determination, and persistence are the boundaries that may stand between every man's fantasy and the realities. One of the bros I grew up with back in the days use to tell us that he will one day play in the FIFA world or at least, hold the world cup trophy with his two hands. He achieved that and more, because, the sole quest to turn his fantasy into a reality made him left Nigeria even when japa was a taboo.

Personal, I never fantasize or give any special credence to holding or touch some very precious material things of life, but I started realizing that it is one thing not to fantasize it but it is another thing entirely to take it for granted when the opportunity actually comes. I mean, no one eats these things. So, apart from owning it as an investment, the only other essence is to behold their beauty and preciousness particularly within your personal space.

For material things, the most precious thing I have held in my hand is a 1Kg 24K Saudi gold bar. This happened at a luxury spot somewhere in Lagos. I was also wish to hold the AFCON trophy someday (I personally find it more royally attractive that the world cup trophy), got very close to that in the past.

In a friendly chat some guy told me his is a pink diamond worth €2M (massive!), for an exhibition somewhere in France. Another talk about shivering feeling that comes with him having to keep $100k cash (in mints of $100 notes) for almost 1 week.

So Nlanders, hope this topic brings some sweet memories of the luxurious moments of your lifes as you drop your comments.

PS: if this goes beyond materials, the most precious thing I have held and still holding is my wife🤗

For me the most precious material thing that I've held and still holding has to be my wedding ring, bracelet, earrings, and necklace... I'm not bragging, but they cost an arm and a leg.

It's just unfortunate that I never got to wear them on the day of my white wedding, as it had to be cancelled due to some unforeseen circumstances... We only did traditional and civil wedding.
Re: What Is The Most Precious Entity You Have Held In You Hands? by McLizbae(op):
Far from actual values or any element of bragging, some jewelries can really be priceless regarding what they actually represent.

Sorry for how you feel about missing the white wedding, but really I am not sorry🤗. I can even commend you for saving a fortune from that "unforseen circumstances". All together happy married life (if your still married), and keep your precious wedding jewelries safe.

That's the thing, we had already paid for all the expenses and the lodge we had booked in had a no refund policy... So basically the money went into waste.

Thanks, and I wish you a happy married life as well.

Oh please pardon that ignorance of mine. Sorry for the financial loss and other inconveniences linked to it. You and your partner can plan for a great and complementary anniversary uno... And if you will consider that suggestion, do well to also consider sending me an invite to me too😁

Like Saudi Arabia or South Africa? Infact if it's not in Lagos, please don't bother investing me🙏

Except of course, you plan to take chartered flight (with your well wishers including me) from Lagos to either country.😊

South Africa... I'm not a Nigerian and I don't have any relatives from Nigeria... So that won't be possible... grin grin grin

Nice! It's actually interesting, meeting a South African Nairalander😊. Kinda show your keen interest in Nigeria and Nigerians.

Been to Nigeria before?

I wish you can tell me how you come across Nland, and why you decide to even register as a member.

Do you mind telling me what you think about Nigerians typically?
Re: What Is The Most Precious Entity You Have Held In You Hands? by Samantha125(f): 2:25pm On Apr 06, 2025
I've never been to Nigeria before.

I came across nairaland through an acquaintance... At first, I didn't have any intention of joining the forum, I was just a guest... It was only after I joined this other Ghanian forum, which was dominated by Nigerians that I decided to deregister from the forum and join nairaland... Because when I joined the Ghanaian forum, I did it with the intention of learning more about Ghana and Ghanaians... I didn't see the use of sticking around when Nigerians were the ones dominating the forum, so I instead joined nairaland.

And if I'm to be brutally honest, most of you guys on this forum are a piece of work... grin grin grin

I like your exploratory attributes. Do you plan to take a tour around Africa someday?

Well I agree with you on nlanders awkwardness most times. It is mostly because of the facelessness and the hidden IDs that characterize the participants on the forum. Members explore and fully display their innermost fantasies, awkwardness, and craze freely and mostly unbridled. Very few nlanders will want to publicly declare their moniker on Nairaland. I can bet that 90% characters on nland are different characters in the real world or other SM with clear IDs.
My wife is also a nlanders, but she doesn't actually know my moniker, and I think it better stay that way😁🙈

Touring around Africa can be an issue when you're already married, unless you do it together as a couple, which I don't see happening in my situation... At least not anytime soon.

Why would you keep your moniker a secret from your wife? What if one day she opens a thread complaining about you? Or did you keep your moniker a secret with an intention of spying on her?

Well, that (highlighted) really does not answer if you wish for the tour or not. But if you wish for it, it may only require a simple discussion and then planning with your husband.

Well, keeping my moniker secret isn't because I do anything unfaithful or illicit to my relationship here. But uno, sometimes you just wanna keep things cool, archived, and private for some reasons unknown, or probably because you just don't really wannu talk about it. More like many talks on hangout with my guys... Plus, my wife don't take anything superficially. So, it has been good since I understand that not everything is worth talking about. We both read the posts and comments together (including mine intentionally sometimes standing in as an anonymous opinion), and get to talk and discuss them more objectively. Helps me understand her views and thinking better on some issues too.

I don't want to tour without my husband, but most of the time his schedule is always tight to a point that I've made peace with the fact that his job is his first wife and I'm the second wife...😅😅😅... But as an introvert, I'm not complaining because I know that he'll always make time for me whenever he's free.

What if one day your wife confesses to having an affair on this forum? What will you do?😅😅😅

But no one else is participating and you're free to state your precious entity.

As for the op, my apologies if you also feel like we're derailing your thread.

Well, I like the way you regard and understand your husband. That should keep working for you.

As for my wife, I rather wouldn't believe that will happen. It's funny tho... But, do you really think that can just happen as a nemesis for keeping my moniker secret? 😁

I don't know hey, but anything is possible... I can't help but suspect that you kept it a secret because you joined nairaland with an intention of keeping an eye on her on this forum...👀👀👀

That's not true. I doubt she has a nl moniker. Matter of fact, I intoduced and have always pull her here. She's more of Twitter, TikTok and other bigger SMs platforms. She often regard NL as a local and late update platform.
