A North Goa court acquitted Nigerian national Manday Felix Odede in a narcotics case, 15 years after he was arrested at Calangute. No independent witnesses were examined. The 465g of a narcotic worth Rs 23.3 lakh found on him was found to be cocaine after chemical analysis. However, the 45g of MDMA worth Rs 90,000 tested positive in the spot test but negative after it was sent for chemical analysis. “The prosecution failed to prove the yellow powder allegedly found in the possession of the accused was MDMA,” observed North Goa additional sessions judge, Sharmila A Patil. The court further observed that the evidence of police witnesses was full of discrepancies and could not be considered in the absence of independent witnesses. No independent pancha witnesses were examined to prove the raid, it stated. It added that as they are residents of Goa, their presence could have been secured or at least some efforts made to produce them before the court. “In matters of NDPS cases where punishment is stringent, the proof required is also stringent,” the court stated. Although a police witness gave a “detailed narration of the manner in which the raid was conducted”, in the cross-examination, a very convenient answer was given by this witness with respect to the material facts of the raid, as ‘I do not remember’, which does not corroborate the facts mentioned in his chief examination, the court observed. “ If he was present at the time of the raid, these details could have been deposed by him in the same manner in which he deposed the facts in his chief examination,” it observed.https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/city/goa/north-goa-court-acquits-nigerian-national-in-15-year-old-narcotics-case/articleshow/120441319.cms

Ah this post has made front page. Helinues , who assumes I am one of his bullies, will soon be here to tell us that igbos are evil druggies. When the shoe is on the other foot...his opposite numbers like Vahardolarris will be here to tell us about how Yorubas are the source of all evil. Avoid such people at all costs. In the real world, no one cares for yer tribal nonsesnese And helinues, you are my special target for implying I support the bullying of a child. As a survivior of bullying as a child, I cannot take that from you. I never harrased you like Mr canceller did, yet you choose to support people who call me a supporter of bullying of a child. So, gloves are off, helinues Next time , you will learn not to cross people's red lines. End bigotry! |

He was lucky that the corrupt Indian Police were no longer interested in his case, after 15 years of incarceration, or better still, his chi went to his rescue. How do we explain concain turning to white or yellow powder during lab examination? |

The MODs that repeatedly push this guys anti igbo topics to the front page, are the ones fanning the embers of tribalism in this place. Everyone knows that the OP is nothing but a high voltage tribalist and a totally inebriated APCs Internet hireling. So from the get go, his of no use and we all know! But on daily basis, as the presidential election nears, the op and his likes have started with their similar 2015/2023 propaganda tactics, which is to frighten the whole country with some crazy anti igbo stories hoping that Nigerians will continue to grow warry of any serious candidate from the east. Devilish tribalism. Unfortunately, the MODs on this site have consciously made this place available for this kind of ethnic hate. I don't know how the management of this site do it; I mean you claim to be against tribalism, but will quietly allow the most virulent bigots to ply their trade unhindered here. That is wild.. |

This is nice. I don't blame Indians or other countries arresting our people wrongly. When the head is already bad, what do you expect? What we see each time we travel is unexplainable. Nowadays, once they see that you're carrying a Nigerian passport, they ask you to stay aside for proper screening while they allow other african nationals to proceed to their various boarding gates without serious checks. They search you from head to toes. You just have to comply. What most people don't know is, these people know about Nigeria far beyond what we think. They get every information about Nigeria, first hand. They've known about tinubu since he was contesting an election, the same way we try to learn about other countries' presidential candidates, their antecedents, schools attended, age, etc. The moment tinubu won the highly rigged election with collusion with the inec by shutting down the server and all, ordinary Ghana was dragging us on the floor on twitter. You don't want to see those comments. South africans too, calling tinubu drug baron turned president. They didn't lie after all. He did it and forfeited so much money to escape justice. I remember when one ijesha man, who owned one of the biggest electronics shops at Dugbe in Ibadan in the 90s. His store was called Gunde Electromix for those living in Ibadan in the 90s, not far from Akran Stores, the thermo cool fridge dealer. His brother owned a popular printing press with its fence extending towards Ibadan toll gate from orita-new garage, almost opposite eagle flower plant. They're Abegundes, very popular. This man used to carry drugs enter UK. One day, he was caught and jailed. They gave him an option to pay a ridiculous amount of money which his printer brother had to pay before they could release him. He also forfeited a large sum in his uk-domiciled account. Tinubu's forfeiture and this man's case was quite similar. The forfeiture isn't a lie, no Nigerian can say they framed tinubu up. Despite all these, he forged his way into presidency. No foreign country would see a Nigerian and would Accord him any respect. Since he's been traveling, looking for investors, how many has he gotten so far, with all the MOUs signed? They'd never come. Congratulations to the guy for his freedom. There are several Nigerians wrongfully incarcerated in the various foreign prisons while some actually committed the crimes. If you have a decent leader, others will respect you and your nationals. Joe Biden avoided meeting with tinubu in one of his last appearances at the world leadership meetings but the federal government covered it up. But we knew what happened. Before any foreigner would want to deal with you. They do several due diligence on you as if you're a criminal like your president. Too bad |

I have stopped taking Beerfraud serious. I discovered long ago that he is outrightly tribalist. If he posts 15 topics, 16 inside will be anti-igbo and just one story line! As if he searches the Internet for only drug cases affecting the Igbo while filtering out the rest. No one should take him serious please. Happy Easter everyone. My concern now is that Easter is being celebrated without power supply at my end! |
