Racoon:
Leave Governor convoy. Organised and deal ruthlessly with your killers.
The governor is the chief security of the state. Besides, if they kill any Fulani they will be arrested and jail. The man that killed cow was thrown inside prison. The one that defended himself from Fulani herdsmen was sentenced to death! The governor is useless!

To think this man is a reverend father is depressing. Politics and religion rarely mix well.

Validated:
If APC gets 5000 votes in any LGA in 2027, know that they rigged it. The people are patiently waiting for them. Even security officers will bear stones this time around.

Very true,

In Nigeria, the decentralization of political power and the complex federal structure can leave state governors somewhat "handicapped" in terms of security for several reasons:

Limited Control Over Security Forces:
Under Nigeria's federal system, the primary responsibility for national security lies with the federal government. The police, military, and intelligence services are under the federal government’s control, meaning state governors don't have full authority over these forces. This limits their ability to directly respond to security crises, especially when federal agencies are slow to act or have competing priorities.

Inability to Deploy the Military:
While state governors can request military intervention in cases of extreme insecurity (e.g., insurgency or large-scale violence), they can't independently deploy the military within their state without federal approval. This hampers rapid and localized responses to security challenges like banditry, kidnapping, or ethnic clashes.

State Police (Lack of):
The absence of state police in Nigeria is a significant issue. Governors have been pushing for the establishment of state police to give them more control over local security, but the issue has been politically contentious. Without state police, governors are reliant on the federal police, which may be under-resourced, overstretched, or not as responsive to local needs.

Budget Constraints:
Security agencies in Nigeria, particularly at the state level, often face budgetary constraints. While the federal government may provide some funding for security, it’s usually insufficient, and state governments often struggle to allocate enough resources to bolster security forces, leaving them dependent on the federal government for support.

Conflicting Interests Between States and Federal Government:
Sometimes, there may be political or strategic differences between a state governor and the federal government, especially if they belong to different political parties. In such situations, the governor may feel that the federal government is not adequately addressing the state's security concerns or may be slow to respond to the needs of the state.

Involvement of Non-State Actors:
With the rise of armed groups such as bandits, insurgents (like Boko Haram), and militias, security in some states has become an intergovernmental issue. Many governors are left with limited options to negotiate or combat these actors effectively, especially when they do not have control over military and intelligence assets.

In summary, the structure of Nigeria's political power and security governance often leaves state governors dependent on federal authorities for security, limiting their autonomy and effectiveness in addressing local security challenges.

There was unrest in Zaki Biam, Benue State, as angry youths vehemently rejected Governor Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Iormen Alia, Ukum LGA Chairman Hon. Jonathan Modi, and other prominent indigenes from entering their community. Shouting “Go! We don’t need you here!”, the protesters blocked access and expressed their dissatisfaction with the government’s presence and perceived neglect of the area.
What goes round always comes around. Gov Alia denied a man entry into his state. A senior citizen of Nigeria whose intention was to donate generously to a school that even the gov Alia himself has not given any meaningful assistance. The man went away with his money, he lost nothing and you gained nothing but loss.

Now you are being rejected by the people you govern. They needed not political pronouncement. Your rejection @ Alia was an organic one.

A father that lacks empathy is a fake father.
He brought shame upon his name and not Catholic folk. A true priest of Catholic Church would rather die that approve or be part of anything than will bring harm to his people.
