Has anybody been able to get the birth certificate attestation through the NPC website? That site is unresponsive, or am I doing something wrong?

Hi Everyone,

Quick question please as I'm in the process of filing my Videx form,

1. Can i use someone that I'm not related to that's based in Germany as a reference person, this same person also helped me with declaration of commitment which i now have.
2. Regarding travel data under purpose of stay I'm guessing this will be Employment right?

Looking forward to answers.

Thank you!
Both right

Pls house I really need your views on this;
I'm applying for the opportunity card using the skilled worker route instead of the point based system (which eliminates the need for ielts and co). Now my professional qualification is in the "bottleneck jobs", but I don't have any experience in that field. What I have is 7 years+ experience in a vocational skill. My question now is, must I find a full-time job in my professional qualification or I can change to a work visa if I find a job (full-time) in my vocational training??

It's called Declaration of Commitment “Verpflichtungserklärung” , and it's issued by the Ausländerbehörde(Immigration office) of the city where your sponsor (relative, friend or business) who is a legal resident or registered legal entity in Germany.

The person issuing it will submit his/her most recent 3 to 6 months payslip depending on the city, house contract, etc, and they'll check the creditworthiness of the entity. If the salary or money earned is enough, they issue the letter.

Many people don't understand the legal implementations of the letter. You're like a guarantor for the person. If he or she defaults in health insurance, commits crime or is been deported, you're held responsible and you pay the cost.

Personally, I can only give this type of letter to my blood. Unless my Spirit says otherwise
Thank you for the insight. Is it only indigenes that are meant to issue the sponsorship letter? Can a Nigerian based and working in Germany help me out?

Yes, and it's better with a Nigerian as the sponsor can easily assume relationship.

The yes, does it imply that my friend in Germany can help me with the sponsorship?

You have to get a job in a "skilled" field. Meaning educational training is required. You won't get approved for menial jobs like Warehouse , delivery etc.

For Blue card, it has to be a job that matches your degree. Unless you're into tech and have lots of experience.

If you want to change fields, make sure you submit adequate proof. Because all these are checked when you want to submit your contract for a work permit in Germany

Hello house,

I went through the thread again and found answers to some of my questions, but I still need clarification/advice on the points below. Kindly indulge me:

Primary School Report: I only have a primary school testimonial, not the actual certificate. Can I still use this? Also, my surname was different back then. Would it be okay to do an affidavit and upload it under "other documents," or is it better to request a new certificate altogether?

School Leaving Certificate (Degree): I have both my transcript and degree certificate. However, I gained admission via direct entry and my transcript starts from 200 level. Should I include my A-level certificate as well?

Birth Certificate: I got one from the local government some time ago, but there’s an error in the name. Is it advisable to register for a new one with the NPC? And if I do, will I still need an attestation letter?

Lastly, do i need to upload a motivation letter/CV at this point under other documents

Thanks in advance for your responses!

Thank you so much for your insight. Talking about changing fields, I do have a trade test certificate to backup the training. Should I go ahead and evaluate that, and when and how do I submit that since I'm using my professional qualification to apply.
Pls a little bit of heads up... do you know if our trade test certificates in nigeria are evaluated positively in germany?

If the trade test certificate has a duration of at least two years, you can use DAB and get it validated. it costs 150 Euros and you'll get it after 2 months.

1. Some people got their testimonial accepted, while others were asked to go and get the certificate. It depends on the VO reviewing your documents. So just go and get it.

2. Your transcript is not needed. Your original degree certificate is the most important document. If you feel like you want to add it, combine them all in one PDF and upload it. 3 of my guys and I did not upload a transcript, just a university degree. We all got approved

3. To get one from the NPC, you need a declaration of age or one from your local government. It cost just 3000. Just do it to avoid back and forth

4. If you're a skilled worker, meaning your degree is on anabin or you did ZAB and it's fully recognized, you don't need your CV or Motivational letter. They won't even collect it on the interview date. Not everyone has the " Additional document" section on their portal, like me, when I applied. So upload it if you like.

Finally, if your name has any form of discrepancy, please do an affidavit and upload it together with your birth certificate

Thanks for all you do here Hannania. God bless you! My query is simple, what are the chances of securing employment in Germany for a degree in Public Administration? Thanks

This is not a technical role, which means you have to interface in German. Without fluent or decent B2 German, honestly you won't find something. So learn the language, and maybe use your skills in another sector. I'm more interested in what you're doing currently because public administration does not have a clear career path

Hi Hannania, I have a B.Eng in Electrical Engineering. I'm also working in that field as I handle electrical contracts and metering. I recently passed my A2 Germany Language course from Goethe.

Current, I have been looking forward to the Opportunity Card stuff and I am trying to save up the €13000 as stated. Although it's not been easy but it's what I have made up my mind to.

Please, I'd love to know the possibilities of getting a job in Germany within the one year stipulated. And is it worth the investment?

I'd appreciate your input. Thanks!

Electrical engineers and most especially technicians are in high demand in Germany. The most of where the jobs are happens to be in the blue collar field. Trust me they earn more than most white collar jobs. Just start the recognition process for the city you wanna go to online.

Please apply asap. You have at least 6 months before you can get an appointment. You can reach B1/B2 by then.

With these, your chances of landing a job is 💯. Besides, you can work part-time for 20hrs without touching your block account amount.

The electrical field is in high demand. Please update your German to at least B1 and you'll thank me in a year time

Please I've been having this dilemma also about how easy it would be finding a suitable job within the stipulated one year without being proficient in German.
I work in the food manufacturing industry where I have experience in quality control, R&grin and product development. I studied Food Science and Technology.

What do you think? Considering the investment, is it worth a shot? I don't want to be booted out after 1year for failure to secure a job after everything.

Of course I'll try my best to learn the language if I get there but it may take a while to be proficient.

@Hannania, well done and many thanks for support all the while. I have gone through the entire thread alongside the questions and responses. Here's my case, I have a Bachelors degree in Accounting but I moved along the Consulting and Learning & Development career path due to passion with over 8 years of relevant work experience on my current career path. Irrespective, I'm still very much conversant with the accounting and finance field due to interest and transferable skills. If I have to pursue this opportunity, which of the fields would you suggest I consider considering the perks and multiplicity of opportunities in both fields. In addition, I recently worked with a German INGO in Nigeria with all documentation to my work history and contracts. Would this give me a better chance with the German embassy? Thanks for your response.

I needed this motivation. Honestly, seeing this has fueled me tonight. I will resume classes for B1 next month.

I have another question. When you said "start the recognition process for the city you wanna go to online", how do I go about this? I am new to this application, I have not yet completed my application because of the block account, although I am almost rounding off the figure.

Can you tell me how to go about choosing the city?

I really appreciate your efforts and swift responses.
