How about providing feedback on key suggestions proffered in the past. E.g
1: The suggestion on dislike button, we have made 45% progress ... Better still, we can't implement this because ...

Oga why dont you implement Ban by ip address? This would discourage the amount of people who believe they can open a nee account after theu have been banned and it will also stop the inflation of new account being opened by exisiting users. This makes sense..

The mods should have list of some toxic monikers/sections, those should be the major targets during rollout.

Give us a dislike button 👎👎👎👎
And programme the bot to identify comments with a certain number of dislikes so the moniker can be flagged and investigated.
If you don't integrate an organic way of tracking misdemeanors, some people will still find ways to slip past the bots.
The way they use alternative spellings and words to mean offensive terms is same way they'll tactically fire ethnic slurs without the bots picking them out.
Let's fight this menace and make nairaland a forum of choice like it used to be.

Unfortunately there is nothing you can do to stop tribalism and racism. Nothing. Human beings are always looking for someone to vent their frustrations and failures in life on.
If it's not their stepmother, mother, Uncle, sibling; then they move to strangers: the neighbor, other village, other tribe and then other race. One day, they will be blaming aliens.

Anyone that has an ounce of sanity and a bit of brain matter knows deep in their hearts that an entire tribe or race cannot be bad.

Of which it is telling on and affecting the value of Nairaland, i dont know if Seun keeps track of his user’s demographic but personally I have noticed a sharp decline in active female users compared to yester-years.

Even the sensible active male users hardly comment any longer.

You can't get it once. Keep tweaking the bot and it will get to that point.
The bad eggs need to be flushed out. Innocent young minds are indirectly corrupted here because of the foolishness of a few, making nairaland lose its credibility.
And kudos to all the very old members who have maintained decorum despite the provocations. Some of us would rather ignore than join the profanity.
Gradually, Nairaland will be sane again.

Bot may not be able to flush all, but then, supermods or mods should swiftly go thru reports as time goes.
Some are specially cooked with hatred & ill mannerism.
Nairaland as an anonymous forum shouldn't give room to people to throw insults, hates etc because they disagree.

I appreciate you on this. I love Nairaland so much due to its educative contents, timely information and a lot of other valuable stuff.

However, this issue of toxicity must be given top priority if this platform must be sanitized. Anyone found wanting in posting bad comments or insulting content of any form should be banned outright (probably for a minimum of 6 months). Hopefully, that would deter others.

This is because I find it funny most times when you air your opinion on certain issues, rather than provide a different perspective or correct your impression if you're wrong, the next is aggressive insults and the likes.

Nahhh man. You're not being honest. Bots did not fail. You and your team did. Yall don't just allow the hate, you encourage it. When you're serious, you know how to deal with it. For now, you're most likely benefiting from the traffic it generates.

Good morning, Seun. This is really commendable. I would suggest including a dislike button, once a post triggers a certain number of dislikes it should be investigated.

Consider introducing some form of verification here with a badge.

Another suggestion is to introduce a character limit for accounts per post. This will sanitize the forum as some people take advantage of this in Spamming threads. Verified accounts/subscribers can have unlimited character.
