Most countries have flagged Nigeria as a no go area due to insecurity. So when a governor is investing in tourism, the question is who are the tourists they plan to woo? No one just carries their bag and travel to a country without doing research. With all the insecurity plaguing Nigeria that’s in the news, any tourist planning to come is embarking on a suicide mission. You guys should invest in checkmating insecurity. When that is checked. You will naturally attract tourists. Some of the African countries that attract tourists aren’t half as endowed as Nigeria. This tells you that tourists seek serenity and exploration of our cultural diversity. We can’t be more developed than the countries we are copying structures from. Why would an American come to Nigeria because of world class structures when that’s what they have in their countries? Foreigners come to Africa not to admire beautiful or world class structures but to explore our cultural heritage— that’s what makes us unique. If we can sell what makes us unique as local as it may be, and have an atmosphere that’s conducive, tourism will flourish without drama. I wonder why our leaders don’t know this. quote author=AngelGabbyShara post=135074814] https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1BkRBBSVwM/[/quote] |

Insecurity is the main reason tourists are not coming to Nigeria. There are many beautiful places to see in Nigeria. Locals are even careful of where they go to. |

AngelGabbyShara:@GoSeeIkogosi (on IG) was voted in two straight years in a row (2023 and 2024) as the BEST holiday resort for tourists in the whole of Nigeria. That's Ikogosi Warm Spring Resort and Conference Center located in Ekiti West LGA which is absolutely impressive. This is one of the main reasons why the new Ekiti State International Cargo Airport in Ado Ekiti makes a whole lot of sense as it's been constructed to also handle air passenger traffic and tourists, investors, business folks, and thousands of folks of Ekiti State descent living and working in the Diaspora (North America, Europe, Southern Africa, etc] can then fly right into Ekiti State from the Lagos Airports or from elsewhere. |
