Nigeria needs to retrace its capitalist steps and pay more attention to the basic necessities of the ordinary people - food, and I think, electricity.

I am still shocked at Band A price for electricity. These private companies are only fixated on more and more profits while doing less and less.

Government needs to stop privatising utilities.

And the fact that you are shocked at band A price for electricity shows that if you had the chance, you would demand that someone who spent over N2000 to bake a loaf of bread should sell it to you at N200....and then how is he going to pay suppliers, farmers, transporters, even his staff?

Band A price is the genuine price for power, which costs N170 a unit to make. And before band A , most people paid below the production cost of a unit of power. Result...a power sector that ran at chronic losses, power companies rejecting electricity because their debt at the end of the year would wreck them, and of course poor investment....and things like discos ripping off estimated billing consumers because so many people are not paying. Whereas in capitalist countries, because people pay for power price at market or close to it....people get paid, and power floows freely.


By the way, the USSR was your ideal country, as was the DDR. They chased away capitalism and practiced the solcialism you seek.And they both had 24/7 light. They also were both reliant on loans from the IMF in the 1970's simply because running that type of economy costs too much. And by the 1980's there were queues for things like bread. In a country that had advanced jetfighters, and sent men to space.

Progress in health care or educational budget

Yes Pastor you are very correct on this, and it is intentionally powered by some individuals and groups to force and propagate the narratives of hopelessness, hate and frustration on unsuspecting compatriots.
They manipulate news, events and good intentions to drive their demonic intentions and force such narratives down the throats of the gullibles and simple-minded.

News doesn't shape reality. Times are getting tougher and opportunities are increasingly diminishing. It's not uncommon for young people who had hopes and aspirations and watch them get dashed to speak ill of their country because it failed them.

What I find very annoying is that the vast majority of young people now have to leave their country in search of greener pastures. We have come to define success as leaving the country of one's birth. In which sane society does that happen?

Nigeria is not getting any better. If not for Yahoo and social media monetization, nobody would be able to walk the streets because the rate of crime would be extremely alarming. It's high time we started electing innovative leaders to run this country. If not, Nigeria is gone!

Is Nigeria as a country programmed to love Nigerians?

Nigerians are used to spoon-feed or feeding bottle types of government where a basic amenity will be provided for a token and nothing at all.
When corruption started growing at astronomical rate coupled with population increase, it was becoming difficult to provide amenities without paying the actual price by the populace who are used to pay little or nothing before.
