2027 will be the year we confirm a lot of Nigerians are not as smart as they claim to be. When I say a lot of Nigerians, I mean so many people which includes self-acclaimed highly educated people, captains of industries, entrepreneurs, the corporates, the academia, religious leaders, etc.

When Tinubu was campaigning, he said these words on live camera "If I don't give you constant electricity in the next four years, don't vote for me again for a second term." In his words, he said: "Whichever way, by all means necessary, you must have electricity, and you will not pay for estimated bills anymore.". These words are very straight and direct, not conditional statement.

I know when 2027 comes we will see enough individuals who will make themselves available to start explaining what "constant electricity" means in CAPanese; we will have people who would twist and turn like earthworm wey kiss salt by explaining to us that "It is not possible for the FG to provide prepaid meter for over 200 million Nigerians, so it is a given that some people will remain on estimated billing, etc.

Then they will convince people who have the memory of a goldfish to vote for the man that asked not to be voted for if he fails to deliver on the aforementioned campaign promise within 4 years.
Video evidence just in case they want to spin it just like with Fashola.....

What exactly did the resident doctors address with this release?

In Nigeria, of the $20000 to $50000 they claimed is used to train doctors, how much of that is borne by the medical student?

In America that $275k is carried by the student directly in form of student loans or family debt

If someone offers to give you a training worth $20k to $50k for a discounted cost of less than $3k.

Even when you enter America and spend $10k to get licensed that means you have spent a total of $13k to become American licensed when your American colleague spent $275k
Both of you will earn the same salary

The Nigerian educated doctor will have spent a total of $13k to start working as a doctor in America whole the American educated would have spent $275k

That's is a major headstart given to Nigerian educated doctors courtesy of the Nigerian govt who heavily subsidized their medical education

Last week I was reading on this thread a funny opinion that what is happening in Benue and Plateau is due to desertification and need for people whose lands have become arid to survive. I read that opinion and shook my head because I know that is an attempt to oversimplify the issue and refuse to address the matter for what it is: INSECURITY- The buck of which stops on the President's table.

Today it is now Kwara state that is being attacked by gun men disguised as military men.

The earlier we all rise to accept that the Insecurity issue which started in the Northeast (Which the PDP government was kicked out for) has matured and spread to the West (Under the watchful and incompetent regime of Buhari) and now the North Central is gradually being slowly drawn into the axis of terror, the better.

Something needs to give. This is the time whatever budget is being allocated to DSS and NIA (Our supposed intelligence agencies) needs to be justified. We should be seeing the heads of these agencies coming out to tell us what exactly is happening, what they have done and still doing to solve the problem and nulify future threats.
Everyone knows it's insecurity, the key question is what is causing this insecurity

Most Kwarans are Moslems, so is it religion that's making a Fulani moslem to kill a Kwara moslem or Zamfara moslem

If u calm down read the repose u will see that the $20k to $50k includes living expenses and other expenses. It is not just tuition fees which I know is what U have in mind by when u want to talk about subsidized medical education.

Anyways it is not my constituency, I will leave the doctors to argue it out with u.

As in.... He should be having meetings with service chiefs and heads of intelligence agencies asking for results . He should be taking full responsibility and apologizing to Nigerians for failing thus far.

He cannot be complaining from the bench all these days as a player, when coach do substitution bring am in na own goals he dey score
More importantly empower local communities to form their own amotekun like TY Danjuma said.

That should be the priority of the states. Nigeria is under policed. So you have increased allocation for each state, you have youths ready to secure their own communities

Then form your security network and stop lying down waiting for your turn

When I say guns should be legalized it's because of things like this when a whole community will be waiting for their own turn

The US 275k also include living and other expenses, if the association of resident doctors are comparing apples to apples

So when you spent $20 to $50k getting a medical education and your colleagues who you will earn the same thing pay almost times 10 of that

I think you should be grateful to the person or organization who subsidized that cost

Nobody is saying it is religion that is responsible but pinning such senseless killings on desertification is also not correct. What is happening is more than that and the intelligence agencies owe us an explanation. A logical explanation.

Simple!

What is chasing the invaders from their own house so much that they need to risk their own personal safety to go into another man's land to commit crimes?

A logical explanation is that their own land is not able to provide for their needs again due to desertification and terrorism

This is an article in time magazine explaining the same

Desertification, in which fertile land becomes barren desert, now affects as much as 60% of Nigeria’s land, exacerbated by drought and climate change. As a result, cattle herders from northern Nigeria have been pushed farther and farther south to find land to graze livestock, causing friction with farmers settled in central states. As Nigeria’s population has spiraled to 191 million, and amid an ongoing conflict with Islamist insurgents, the competition for land has become fierce. At least 10,000 people have died in the resulting clashes since 2011, and many more have lost their homes

Make Poju spend all that money on his child in American University of Nigeria or any of the private schools in naija and he should watch the child collect 250,000 monthly salary after graduation na.

Which Medical student in Nigeria spends $50k from his own pocket? That is N80M. Most of that $50k is spent by the Nigerian govt to subsidize the education of these medical students

Yes, it a real response

He said he was in America and he told some Nigerians who were complaining that in Naija u can spend N500,000 to become a medical graduate but dem no born u well to spend $2000 at John Hopkins to become MD.

So NARD told him to stop capping .

I was in America and I sat down with some Nigerians and they started. I told them that in Nigeria, a person will graduate as a medical doctor and spend N500, 000 throughout to become a doctor and they are working. You will graduate from John Hopkins as a doctor and you spend $2000, are you okay? Do you know how much money you will spend?

That was Pojus tatement regarding the medical education in Nigeria vs the US. What is wrong with that statement

Fact is if we are to go the full way without subsidized education by the Nigerian govt, Many of us wont be able to afford it
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by afrodoc(m): 2:47pm On Apr 22, 2025
Any doctor who allows himself to be gaslit not to japa should return his brain to his creator.

Everybody who schooled in a public university in Nigeria benefitted from subsidized education. It is not only doctors. Engineers, Lawyers, Accountants, Architects, Computer Scientists too should not japa and they can start the prostration. grin grin grin

Full gaslight.

He should face his pastoral job and win souls. If he is allergic to minding his business he can start alphabetically from Accounting, Actuarial Sciences, Engineering, Law etc before coming to try to gaslight Medicine. When those ones too have gone to Aso Rock to prostrate and the ones abroad have come back, we will consider it. grin grin grin

Every graduate got subsidized education, Doctors was just an example of highly paid profession whose training gulps a lot of money

I don't think Poju is saying anyone should not japa. Anyone that japa and uses his Naija certificate to get a high paying job should be grateful for getting a subsidized education his peers abroad are not getting

My colleagues abroad are still paying student loans and I am grateful that Naija govt provided it to me for cheap
