Akpakomiza2:Quite well OBJ suspended two governors, which was ultra vires. The constitution confers on the President the power to declare a State of Emergency but the constitution didn't empower that the President has power to suspend the authority of the State in the process. OBJ erred during his time. Jonathan got it right by not suspending the governors of Yobe, Adamawa and Borno when he declared emergency rule in the three States. Tinubu was a fierce critic to the emergency rule by Obasanjo and Jonathan even though Jonathan still maintained the governing structures in the three States. I am surprised that you had to quote the same law that Prime Minister Tafa Belewa used in declaring State of Emergency in the Western Region to back up Tinubu constitutional gaffe in Rivers state. You are just incorrigible. Section 1 of the 1999 constitution as amended states that: "Any law that conflicts with the constitution is invalid to the extent of the conflict" |

Urgent1Million:ok even with your logic, economy grew by x3 in naira, but the naira crashed by x10. Ain't that what is called worthless growth??. You make x3 only to owe x10. Where is the positive in that esp considering literally every thing we do and have is tied to the dollar in more ways than one, even indigenous manufacturers that are still functioning import one or two raw materials, chemicals or parts. |

IPIGSRSHALLOW:I repeat what I always say: Nigerians have NO CLUE how nations develop. Both LEADERS and followers are clueless. Hopefully the crude oil will run out soon enough and THEN we will understand what's really happening. In 2011 they said it remained 41 years. Nigeria is a joke! |

heysquare:not happening in the next decade at least. The number of businesses that have crashed in the last 5years alone, says other wise. What will fuel the GDP growth when SMEs are struggling or outrightly dying? If not for the emergence of remote work affording many the opportunity to sell services and earn in foreign currency right in Nigeria, e for worstttter |

mrksquare:There is no conflict. The constitution is silent on suspension of a governor. A state of emergency simply means governance has failed, democratic institutions in a state have failed and must give way for the fg to handle. That is why the state assembly is taken over by the nass. Section 305 of the constitution covers the emergency act. The supreme court in 2006 failed to rule against the suspension of plateau governor which indirectly validates that suspension. Anyway I gave you other instances where tinubu is a better democrat |

Paramount01:GEJ left a debt profile of $7 billion in external debt. Buhari left Nigeria with $41 billion national debt and $21 NNPC debt. Buhari claimed that fuel subsidies is stealing in 2011 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kXDsrIh2s5s&t=23s Buhari's on fuel subsidies is based on debt fraud.

Akpakomiza2:When I said you are incorrigible I wasn't mincing words. How can the constitution be silent on such fundamental issue as the suspension of a sitting governor. Then if the Federation is at war, then it means the President can be suspended for the military to take over. Do you know that the reason the military staged the first coup in Nigeria was owing to the State of emergency that Prime Minister Tafa Belewa declared in the Western region. |

IPIGSRSHALLOW:Think about it very well. The fact that was much higher and then became much lower after you tookover is enough indication that your government is not ordained and you are the bad luck to the country. It happened in the Bible times when illegitimate king assumed office by illegitimate means. Everything went downwards. They lost wars and all that. |

mrksquare:I already pointed out the emergency act of 1962 which is covered by section 305 of the constitution. Besides precedents by obj enables it. Gej illegally removed Sanusi as cbn governor, Salami as appeal court president so Tinubu is better |

Agbegbaorogboye:Don’t be a domeeyyy. GDP is measured in a country currency so how can GDP shrink 3fold when not in recession? When they convert to USD, they use the defended dollar value to quote price which don’t reflect the GDP in the true sense. So if Tinubu suddenly defend naira and take it back to N450 to $1, then our GDP automatically triple? Which school you graduate from self?

sulaak:I am trying to understand you ,Buhari debt is far much higher than Jonathan debt agree .and the explanation of Buhari debt was due to many factors . 1) crude oil price droped to the lowest in Nigeria history 2) debt incure by Jonathan ,that made Buhari to go and borrow money to settle those debt 3)COVID 19 4) Russian Ukraine war Pls explain to me why Jonathan owe $7 trillion despite receiving the highest revenue and receiving a debt free nation |

Paramount01:You are not trying to understand me but looking for an excuse to defend a failure called Buhari, 1) crude oil price droped to the lowest in Nigeria history : Under Obasanjo oil price was $10 per barrel 2) debt incure by Jonathan ,that made Buhari to go and borrow money to settle those debt. What debt ? GEJ left a debt of $7 billion with $32 billion in reserve 3)COVID 19 The rate was $60 per barrel 4) Russian Ukraine war Oil prices went through the roof in 2022. Under Buhari, oil export drops to 900K per day |
