Those who are part of real politics know it's not that 'basic'. Real world politics is not 1+1=2, it involves lots of deals and compromises. Even where you have overwhelming majority, the disgruntled & the cheated are often up for grabs. A simple North-South divide can never capture that.

Compensations here and there, the Omo-Agege and Nwoko issues is delaying the official announcement for now.

I think that is the major issue that needs to be clarified before any major move should be made by him so that he won't commit a political suicide if the two team up against him. Currently, they hold the party structure and that speaks volume.
But the issue of decamping into a ruling party is a big lacunar in our constitution and personally I do not think it's the best for our growing democracy.

Most states in the core north are in APC already, while APC has only one governor in the SS the least among the 6 regions hence, the reason for APC's concentration there
