Defunct/Redundant positions should not be protected simply because they are people's jobs. If anything, the reversal of the NNSA layoffs (minus 28 workers) within 24 hours confirms their priorities. It is sincere, even if not 100% perfect.

I get it if you're anti-Trump but we're not about to have a discussion over the importance of retaining waste where it is produced. The layoff terms provides for future payments, as it should.
