When Ironsi dismantled the regional government in 1966 and unified EAST, WEST and NORTH, he thought he was smart. Jaga jagaban can go ahead and execute Abacha's plan of a unilateral party system....he still remains the last president of the forest.

I think this President Tinubu and his ministers are sleeping and are not sensitive to what is happening to Nigerians. Things are expensive outside here and Nigerians are feeling the heat( I mean common man on the street) graduates have no jobs and are suffering, the street is not smiling and you are talking about security and enough is enough. If you don't want war in this country try and listen to what the Nigerians are telling you. Bring the price of petrol, gas, electricity and foodstuffs among others down and let us be relieved of this pain.
This is one of the reasons for the rise in criminal activities on the land. Please let the youths be given jobs. We have a lot of agencies in Nigeria and there supposed to be space there for the unemployed youths willing to work and feed their families.

Many of our brothers on the opposite side don’t understand how better Tinubu is for them, their minds are still clouded by the hatred born out of their election losses… it’s not really easy for a leader of a diverse population in a country to be giving orders of death and destruction just randomly. For Tinubu, the atrocities would have gained enough momentum so much that even the tribesmen of the criminals would be the one supporting a radical orders against their own people. By the time Tinubu is done dealing with those people, the victimised people would have nothing for him but love and gratitude.
Oga just wake up and stop this lame talk. This has no impact on the topic of discussion

Oga Ironsi didn't dismantle regional system. This lie has to stop. Ironsi still had regional governors with the unitary system. What he did was to unify the civil service that was all.
The person who dismantled regional system was Gowon. Take am easy to dey lie.

Release NNAMDI KANU......that man should be set free ....what's happening now was what he fore-saw, warned against and pushed for people to lay guard .....yes we know he made one or two inciting comments that could have lead to breakdown of law and order but again, most rehabilitated and yet released terrorists performed far worse than him....

Government should take that burden off their shoulder...
So when obj was in power and Boko Haram was born Kanu was in custody?

During Gej when Chibok girls were abducted and Bombig got to Abuja then Kanu was in custody?

Pls what brought Kanu into this discussion? You can Lord Kanu over your life keep it to yourself, we dong know who is Kanu and we can never Lord him over us infact he is a criminal only in different style unless you want to tell us he is the one sponsoring insecurity and if that is the case then he will be in custody for 100 years.

Did you say this to GEJ during his time or is it because you have given Tinubu deity status?

STATEHOUSE PRESS RELEASE

PRESIDENT TINUBU ISSUES NEW DIRECTIVES ON SECURITY, SAYS "ENOUGH IS ENOUGH"

President Bola Tinubu has directed an immediate and comprehensive overhaul of national security strategies, demanding urgent action to end the escalating violence in Borno, Benue, Plateau and Kwara states.

The President, who met with security chiefs at the State House in Abuja for more than two hours, said the killing of innocent people in Borno, Benue and Plateau States must cease.

"Enough is enough," President Tinubu declared as he once again condemned the senseless targeting of innocent Nigerians.

The National Security Adviser (NSA), Nuhu Ribadu, told newsmen that the service chiefs briefed the President on all the attacks in the states, the death toll, and the destruction of properties.

The NSA said President Tinubu ordered a new approach to tackling the insecurity problems.

Ribadu noted that President Tinubu was also actively monitoring and giving instructions during his work visit to Paris and London.

"Mr President gave us the chance to come and brief him again. It lasted very long. We gave him an update on what was going on.

"Even when he was out there, he was constantly in touch, giving directives and following developments.

"Today, we had the opportunity to come and brief him again, and it lasted hours. It was a very detailed briefing, and it was exhaustive.

"We listened, and we took instructions from him. He gave us new directives. The fact is that Mr President is insisting that we work harder to restore security in the country.

"We gave him information on what has been happening and assured him of our commitment.

"We had carried out his instructions. We went to places with incidences of insecurity, such as Plateau, Benue, and Borno States.

"We went to those particular three states. We gave him feedback because he had directed us earlier to go and meet with the political authorities there," he added.

The NSA said the President highlighted the need to involve the local councils and state governments more in tackling insecurity cases.

"The issue of insecurity often is not just at the higher levels. It involves the subunits. They are the ones who are directly with the people, especially when some of the challenges border on community problems.

"We need to work with the communities. We need to work with the local governments, and we need to work with the governors.

"The President directed that we work more with governors," he said.

Ribadu noted that the President was "very worried and concerned" at the meeting.

"He said, 'Enough is enough'. We are working to ensure that we restore peace and security. We were all at the meeting with the President, armed forces, police, and intelligence community."

The NSA said the attackers usually target innocent citizens by planting Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) and targeting ungoverned areas.

Surveillance drones and attack drones with boots on the ground are needed to finally kick out all the foreign Fulani herdsmen who have brazenly taken over and RENAMED indigenous communities in Plateau, Benue, and in Hausaland using AK-47s and RPGs. These are Fulahs invaders from the Sahelian parts of West Africa such as Mali, Niger, Cameroon, etc.

Nuhu Ribadu is a Fulah himself and would probably NOT want to give the full details about what his foreign Fulani are doing to Tinubu. President Tinubu has to get the right security information from the Governors, the indigenous communities and the intelligence agencies to totally end the many decades long foreign Fulah invasions of Nigerian communities and an end must be put to open grazing of cattle under the ECOWAS free movement which is the excuse these Fulahs use to get into Nigeria. Enough is Enough.

Saying plenty things without saying anything.

Watch how the insecurity will escalate without nothing being done.

Must they give the security chiefs new orders or mandate like small Pikin before they do the needful,?

Just so you know, all these meetings mean nothing.

Bozos talks, new instructions my ass, how long shall we live comfortably in self denial.

How on earth can a country arrest known terrorist, that are apprehended in action for killing and shedding innocent blood be taken to remind homes, rehabilitated and sent back home with money and equipments.

How on earth do kidnappers and sympathizers get the most flimsy sentences ever in this country, while orderly thirves rust in jail, we release kidnappers and bandits back h9me almost immediately back to the streets after been captured and handled to the security.

Where on earth was it ever heard that a country with presumed security both air and land will have heavily armed men going about from one town to another, from one village to another killing and burning people and properties for days without any lethal response to repelling or contain them or maybe arrest but instead its the local that come out to defend themselves, that the security will pounce on, arrest , kill and disarm them for their bravery to save their communities.

Who will not venture into these business?

As long as Nigeria law favors ,penalties is mild and security sleepers home while people call for help are in place and not put together to serve and protect the innocent poor citizens, security will keep extorting the government of our had earn tax money to be nursing criminals and terrorist to its peak, while the profit from it.

Absolutely well said.

You are the ONLY one that made the MOST sense here. Others are just largely clueless, rambling on and cursing WITHOUT offering functional solutions or hitting the nail on the head.

I stated the same thing on this same thread page and you are stating the same thing to too.

Nuhu Ribadu is a Fulani from Adamawa State just like the foreign Fulani herdsmen from West African countries and criminals who have invaded indigenous Nigerian communities (since the early 2000s when former President Obasanjo was the President till former President Buhari, and now), taken over indigenous lands, and renamed these indigenous Nigerian communities to Fula names in parts of Kaduna, Benue, Plateau, Zamfara, and other areas of Hausaland. The Fulahs are a minority, so what is the problem with Nigeria quickly solving this problem that prevents indigenous farmers from going to their farms?

Nuhu Ribadu should NOT be totally relied upon here because he would likely minimize the terror his foreign West African kinsmen are causing. BUT Tinubu has to get his real security briefs from other intelligence sources and highly intelligent people such as Babajide Kolade-Otitoju of TVC who has called these Fula bandits and their modus operandi out on Journalists Hangout. Past and recent episodes of his accurate opinions are on YouTube. TVC is owned by President Tinubu himself so he has a lot of Intel resources at his disposal to assist these States to solve the problem once and for all.

Those State Governors also have to purchase their own surveillance drones and buy AK 47s to match the firepower of the foreign bandits while being monitored from a central security command of the DSS to ensure the professional use of the newly acquired weapons. Period.
