Peter Obi believes that the power belongs to the people and the people should vote and defend their votes. But that kind of politics doesn't work in Nigeria.

It's not even about the people joining APC, it about who controls INEC.

The north despite their numbers cannot win in elections all by themselves , they need to get the support of another region. South West is out of it, so it south south because they feel the "south" must complete its 8 years. Furthermore, There would be voter apathy in the south East which is the recipe required for rigging

The north would likely want to push a northern candidate which would be their downfall.

The only thing that can help the north is if the collaborate with the southern who has northern appeal , maybe just maybe then would they would get votes but alas their votes would not count because the rigging machines in the south and North Central would be employed massively

So is it stands, its a done deal for tilumbu. He would most probably win despite the hardship he is inflicting on people

APC would have presented Osibanjo as presidential candidate.

That is the beauty of democracy, the freedom of choice. That the defectors will face disciplinary action or have lost their elected post on the basis of the platform through which they got elected is another discourse.

Also, that the defected members of the various parties will be re-elected is another thing.
This might just be the end of political prostitution in Nigeria by the end of 2027 elections.

I am confident the defected party members regardless of their positions, are doing it for their individual ambitions as against the need to serve the people.

Obi is an un-announced member of APC already. APC has come to stay as a breeding ground for new generation of leaders in Nigeria. Tinubu as usual is breeding and strengthening new sets of leaders from mainly the south and the north. The defections are pure political bargaining and realignment for both 2027 and 2031. With the current plan, Atiku is a complete gonner.

Why should Obi be bothered? He has his own game to run.
