In Ghanaian culture, the lay their dead in state or bury them in coffins that depict their occupation when they were alive.
This man was probably a miner and they are just showing how he washed dirt to extract the minerals they were mining for

The first night I experienced a Ghanaian burial procession, I was initially frightened. Imagine walking into a street at around 11 p.m. and seeing mourners hundreds of them dressed like native doctors, moving solemnly along the road.

I've experienced their burials twice & till today, I haven't gotten over everything they did to & with those corpses.

But the way they handle the dead perhaps makes it less traumatizing & easy to deal with for them. For me though, it's scary & downright creepy.

It's become a normal sight for me. At Jackson Park in Koforidua, about 5 burials take place at the same time every weekend. So i got used to it.

I thank God for being a Muslim.

Koforidua is where All Nations University is, right?

I experienced those ones in the Nothern Region....in WA.
I don't think I can ever get used to the sights though.
