Whether you support him or not, I don't really care. I'm not trying to discourage your support or separate you from your mandate. But his departing there to Rome for the Pope's demise to commiserate with them is UNNECESSARY and the height of EYE SERVICE.

A simple tribute will travel far and serve better. He's becoming an upscale Sanwo Olu because of politics, who kept on visiting every Dick, Tom, and Harry...for mere political points.

Political points aren't scored like this.

Politicians are predictable.

You are free to air your differing opinions anyways...mine is differing too.
It is official; you have gone mad.

You want to dictate how a private citizen should spend his money or where he can or cannot go?
Isn't that a tad bit silly?
Re: Peter Obi's Trip To The Vatican, Unnecessary by chatinent(op): 11:29am On Apr 24, 2025
It's funny people think because I don't support Obi, then I must support Tinubu or Atiku.

I do NOT support any of them. They are all politicians who lie, steal, and cheat.

Someone went to pay his last respect to his spiritual father and you are calling it unnecessary.
We think everything is politics.
My Aunt's and her husband in Texas are currently in Rome to attend the funeral of the Pope.
Thousands of Roman Catholics faithful from Nigeria and around the world also made the trip to Rome.
Because they are not Celebrities or public figures that is why they are not on the news.
If not for poverty in Nigeria, are most Roman Catholics in Nigeria not supposed to travel to Rome to bid their Pope farewell?
When TB Joshua was buried, so many of his members that traveled to Nigeria from other countries of the world to attend the funeral and pay him his last respect was also UNNECESSARY?

The Joke in Nairaland is getting out of hands.
its irritating honestly.
the clownss leave their failure and focus on a private citizen grin

There is absolutely nothing wrong with what Peter Obi did — and anyone screaming otherwise is either dishonest, deranged, or drowning in tribal bitterness.

Obi operates with a mind forged in rare empathy and dangerous clarity — a trait alien to Nigerians. His compassion isn’t weakness, he dared to be human — and for that, they rage. Let them choke on their venom.

Oga Op ,i just seat down dey reason how much your paid for this post, the energy you used in condemning his personal spiritual life and his finance and lifestyle its a waste to your generation, i believe that energy would have been more beneficial to your next of kin if you have one if well directed to the man who owns you your right quote of standard life as a Nigerian, keeping quoting Obi and his lifestyle till the day your new generation will ask you what you spent your time doing. He is overzealous, i have told you......If Obi ever becomes president, he will err on the side of ethnoreligious bias. The pope is an important person. Its breach of protocol for him to go and start taking pictures and flooding the media space.

He is a private citizen and he is usurping the state visit, state response. If he was in Russia, Putin will not tolerate this behavior, even Trump in America will not tolerate this behavior. He needs to learn that there is nothing like office of serial presidential aspirant.

He does these things then tries to play it off.He is like a peacock. Half of what he does is for the camera. Learn to do somethings discreetly. Let people just hear about it. Not carry your own photographer around. People will not take you serious. Thats why they call you a social media candidate.
My Comment of the year! Brilliant!

I wonder how some ignorant folks haven’t figured out this reality!.. I wonder is it really ignorance or mischief?

Who in the world told you Obi went to the Vatican to score political points? undecided

Peter Obi is Catholic. A devoted one at that. His brother is a Priest and his sister a Reverend Sister.

He has met the late Pope a number of times, so what's wrong with paying the man a last respect. Abi, na your money e use travel? angry

Everything is not about politics, he has a private life too.

Peter Obi belongs to an organization appointed by the Pope himself and they're meant to be there. If you don't know something, stop criticizing.

He is a private citizen too. I'm sure you did not criticize Tinubu for being in France for 20days

Re: Peter Obi's Trip To The Vatican, Unnecessary by chatinent(op):
People, when blinded by politics, refuse to reason again.

A pope died. Actually, everyone dies too.. so death is a mutual friend for everyone. It is not sth you can rebuke, 'god forbid', or avoid. I understand it is also painful to lose someone. But somehow, a certain politician notorious with the Messiah complex to his supporters has become a visitor to every event that he wants to add Good Gesture to his CV. And this good gesture must be photoshot. Of course, good gestures have nothing to do with being discreet by politicians. He carries his camera crew... because he needs a message sent..CARING MAN.

It must be publicised to write you as a caring person in the hearts of your supporters.

If that's what good gesture is all about to his supporters, I hope you do not write Atiku or someone else off if they do so too.

Let's not even talk about a politician flaunting as a holy man.

No politician cares about God or you. It's always being about self interest. The early you know this, the better.

Just saying.

For those sending warm insults, it would not surprise you to know you are not important to the point of this topic anyways.

I don't even notice fonts who cannot start a conversation without insults. It has to be with insults because they have no contrasting points to offer.

You really played clannish politics by showing your inward bigotry with this thread. You are now trying to play the victim and crying over your bitterness.
