During the last couple of elections, we also saw situations where one person essentially stamped his fingerprints on over 100 voting records. There are numerous videos of this atrocious practice carried out at various polling stations during the LGA and Gubernatorial elections in Edo, Kwara, Imo, etc. Do we do away with the Biometric system of voting because of that, too?

Why not have the two systems work together for double security, since there remains no solid identification framework in the country to be employed to date for this sort of thing?

➜PVC and BVAS is for accreditation. If BVAS accreditation record is lower than actual voters, then its a clear case of overvoting. Citizens must defend their votes. PVC protects nothing

Again, in Edo, Imo, Kwara, etc., there were cases of the BVAs' records exceeding the number of actual voters, all thanks to the padding of numbers at the INEC offices. 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄

➜ Rigging is a different issue that requires electoral reforms like making it compulsory that BVAS numbers must be the determining factor and not voters register

If each vote had been registered against a unique PVC, rigging would not have happened to the extent that it did in those polling stations, given that ID would have had to spend more time cooking up its results than it did in places like Edo, Imo, Kwara, etc. where it was reported that hundreds of voting records were discovered to have been stamped by the same person.

Votes are not registered to a PVC. PVC is for accreditation only. To have credible election, the law should mandate electronic transmission and collation

✓ The BVAS is biometrics meaning you can only vote once nationwide. If INEC plans to rig then BVAS will not work as intended, neither will PVC work.
Mind you PVC can be cloned

With scan/QR codes, we could discard all PVC, or convert them to QR codes. New voters can generate QR codes.

When it’s time to vote, they scan your code to show your photo and name.

After the QR code marks that you have voted, you will not be allowed to vote elsewhere. It will simply show that you have voted and the location and time.

Technology can save a lot of time, money and propensity of error.
