What made you to do that in the first instance? We blame our leaders for lots of our problems but we the citizens are not better. Why on earth will you make a religion superior over the other? Secondly your moderators need to stop being bias, baning people in support of another person and baning people for trival mattes or for a simple comment, that leaves much to be desired. Thanks.

Only false religions demands oath before discussing with people it's a free world since no one is forcing Christ on you!

We kindly urge you to re enable the oath for Muslim. The oath kept some overzealous Christians away from commenting. Opening it makes it a free access to what does not concern them. Please see the oath as a tool for implementing least privileged access.
If Christians want oath on their thread, please enable it for them. Don't get blackmailed by Christians saying why oath for Muslim. They supposed to ask for their own and not a call to remove from Muslim. Don't be unjust. We have maintained compliance from commenting on Christians thread even without oath. In fact negative comments on Christian thread are mostly from Christians. Restore the oath for Muslims and find a way to implement for Christians. Equality is not achieved by withdrawing the right from one, rather you should provide same right to the other.
Can't you see that despite the oath, the majority of comments on Muslim threads on the first page used to be from Christians. An intentional way to deny Muslims from commenting on Islam thread on the first page.
Enable oath for the two religions, any one that jump the oath and comment negatively on such thread should be banned. That's how to implement controls.

It wouldn't have been a bad idea to have different sections for
1. Christians
2. Muslims
3. Atheists
4. Traditional and others.

It is my opinion that this is more reflective of the demographic on nairaland and Nigeria in general, rather than lumping everyone except Muslims in one group.

Also the share button can be converted to a dislike button, for unpopular and mostly negative opinions

Big thanks on the removal of the oath taking part though.

Nigeria is already too tribalistic and religion divided as it is. Not sure why you decided to adopt this mentality on your site. Quite disappointing. Also can you please evolve the look and feel of your site. Been the same since it started in 2005, over 20 years ago now. At the very least, implement Dark Mode. Thanks.

Not really but the report function should be working such that you don't need to quote the mods, but just click on report and the comment is reviewed by the mods and taken down of it is deemed tribalistic or inciteful.

The oath on your threads is not a right, it's a one-sided privilege and it's been rightly removed.
I don't think anything should bother you if someone is commenting on your religion, except your beliefs are indefensible. Go to the speakers corner in London, where people engage in open discourse about religion. Nobody has to swear an oath or take shahada before voicing their minds. This is a public forum. You're free to create yours and model it the way you want. Nobody will care. The rules have changed forever and there's nothing you can do about it.
