He lamented that despite living in the U.S. for years, he hasn’t achieved anything significant. He hasn’t built a house or even bought a car, and now he has to face the shame of telling his mother that he’s going to prison in a foreign land for a crime he claims he neither committed nor fully understood.[/quote]$50k and he doesn't have a house or a carhuh?

This guy must be crazy. He is being economical with the truth.

A whopping $50000 as compensation for just helping your friend to receive funds from someone would raise an eyebrow. You knew the exact source of funds, dude. So, stop taking us for a ride.

They call it "day of reckoning"! It comes for everyone. That's why our parents raised us all to walk the straight and narrow. That said, I am afraid it's going to be a season of reckoning for all the so called "Azaman" of the world.

In my conversation with an old friend, who happens to be an immigration lawyer, he talked about these new expanded background checks. Everyone with a file before the USCIS now, get's this thorough criminal background check. Back in the days, it was just criminal conviction check. Now if your name as much as shows up in speeding ticket, it is flagged for further investigation which could potentially lead to criminal charges. And a criminal charge, means your application is automatically denied. They are doing the same thing with Visa applications, this time granting Visas to some that thought their transgressions had been forgotten, only to be arrested at the port of entry.

Oga, you will do jail! Romance scammers are scum of the earth. The FBI will determine if you were an innocent mule or a willing mule.

Strike a plea deal and name the person who used you as a money mule.. You may still do time or best case, refund the money. Your actions led to the woman killing herself.. Involuntary manslaughter

My friend's neighbour who is a small time azaman, has a woman back in the states helping him to pick small amounts $500 - $1000 since 2022. The woman happened to be a divorcee and still maintained contact with her ex husband. The man found out about her transactions. He warned my guy's neighbour to stop. Called him on phone to threaten the azaman to stop using his ex.wife.. .Baba think say na joke. Two months ago Interpol burst the guy/his roommate..The roommate's family bailed him , But the azaman was moved straight to ABJ...it happened the ex hushand gave interpol a tip and $10000 to track the guy. I shock myself.

Some cities no require car, if yopu dey live for most parts of NYC and you have a car, you're just wasting your time. The subway is 10 times more efficient! Also rent for one bedroom in NY could cost 2k per month, in 2 years that 50k don disappear grin grin grin

Something similar happened to me in the past, but I acted swiftly.
A friend visited from Nigeria, we hung out together in Atlanta while he was here with us.

He eventually returned to Nigeria and called me to tell me he needed a favor. He said a friend of his wanted to send him some money and he wanted me to get it for him. How much? $300. So, I gave him my Bank Of America account details, $300 ain't no big deal.

His friend sent the $300 to me and I sent everything to him in Nigeria, I didn't charge him anything cos I thought the whole thing was about a friend helping a friend out.

Suddenly I went to sleep one night, woke up and saw various alerts from my bank. A total of about $58,000 was deposited into the account I gave that dude overnight from different people I don't know of.

Dude was calling me over and over and when he reached me told me to send all the funds to him in Nigeria. I asked who all these people were and he said they're all his friends. It's not clear how a visitor from Nigeria can suddenly come to America and have over 50 different people sending funds into my own personal US account.

I simply drove to the bank and told them I don't know nothing about all these transactions. All he told me was that he was expecting some funds from one friend, where all these funds came from is strange to me.

The bank made me pay back the $300 I already sent to him and shut down my account. An account I had maintained for over 15 years suddenly got shut down, affecting my usual transactions like direct deposits etc

The difference between me and this dude is that I reported it, he didn't. He spent the money, I didn't even touch it.

He never achieved anything....but he has a lawyer? ...a lawyer that been checking to see if he popped up on the Wanted list? That alone tells a lot of what he was into. The mysterious friend is a well known "baller". Why is he not giving us details so we can locate the popular baller and hand him over to Police? He has no intention of going after the baller ...the mysterious baller. Let him face the music.
