MadPolitician:What can Nigeria do to Cape Verde? Have you ever seen them coming to Nigeria? They are not many and I don't think they import crude oil or any mineral resources from Nigeria the last time I checked. So what can Nigerian government do to them? Invade their country and take over? Only America and some other Western countries have such power.....Nigeria is becoming a joke....all thanks to the drug lord you guys allowed to rig himself in and still defend his stupid policies making more Nigerians poorer and turn to crime? |

MadPolitician:You didn't get the memo. The Nigerian government doesn't care about her citizens. It's 2025, and we still have about 2 yrs till the next election. Nobody is talking about governance. They're busy strategizing ahead of 2027. They win in 2027, and they just do whatever they like because they've got nothing to lose. It's the cycle. |
| Re: Oghenero Adaware: What Cape Verde Taught Me About Being Nigerian by franchasng: 3:37pm On Apr 26, 2025 |
Judolisco:Listen, all these things are as a result of bad government/leadership. Nigerians are going into crime because of hardship and less survival opportunities. If Nigeria's economy is booming, and there are good paying jobs available for Nigerians ready to work, and businesses are thriving, believe me, number of Nigerians engaging in crime like drug trafficking, Yahoo Yahoo, etc will reduce with time. No crime or corrupt practice or illegitimate thing is lesser than the other; you might not be into drug peddling, but you or your friends/relatives might be into a different type of illegal business or corrupt practices to earn a living.....all because of failed Nigerian President and others......the world watched you Nigerians allow an internationally known drug trafficker and wire wire syndicate leader force himself on Nigerians as President and Nigerians remained quiet out of nepotism. Civil servants use their offices to steal, do all forms of office corruption. Traders cheat. Students have legalized exam malpractice. Virtually all Nigerians are in one form of illegitimate means of earning income or another....all because Nigeria's President failed woefully and turned Nigeria to a miserable nation with stupid policies |

themosthigh:oga all u wrote here is rubbish One thing outsiders know about Nigeria is crime Forget your stories, they only remember crime when u talk Nigeria n they don't care about your politicians or internal conflict or terrorist. I remember when I was in an arab country for a course, once u introduce yourself as a Nigerian the first question they ask u is that Are u the Nigerian prince? Or Do u know hushpuppy? Some will even give u space n some will treat u with the mindset that u can Rob them any moment I remember I met a woman at an eatery n when she knew I was a Nigerian she said awusubilahi n left, it was later I learnt that that word means God rebuke d devil Those people only know we do drugs, fraud n are criminals They don't care about boko haram or your politicians There's an American movie where a grandpa was telling his grandsons that he just hit a jackpot online n they replied that it could just b a Nigerian messing with his brain. That's how they see us |

The truth is that it's not going to stop soon, some of our boys and girls travel to other countries to do drugs, sex work, disobey laws, scam citizens of host countries and commit different frauds, not in one country but in all the countries they step into. Again, all what other countries hear and absorb about us is the bad side alone which seems to be more than the good services we offer in their country. |

DeLaRue:Nonsense write up.... I have a EU passport but based most of the time in Nigeria..... Just having that passport alone gives me great satisfaction tht I can leave anytime to cool off my nerves.... I run a business in Nigeria and it's satisfying to make and spend here.... There's nothing mentally satisfying seeing your people suffer... Majority can't afford hospital bills nor good clean environment.... And this is me that reside in a gated estate around ikate area ... I drive out and am just angry cuz the suffering is man made ... So excuse with the bs of having mental satisfaction |

Judolisco:Not true. Nigeria has been unfortunate with Presidents....and when Nigeria had two good Presidents; Yaradua and Goodluck, una allowed APC devils to deceive una with nepotism. If I become Nigeria's President, I swear with my life....I rather die or resign than allow things to become so messed up as it is now. God forbid I become President and intentionally sideline, ignore and neglect any Nigerian region, ethnicity, or section. I will forgive everybody that wronged me before I became President and carry every Nigerian region along for the good of myself and the entire nation. I will carefully select and assemble highly competent and determined Nigerians from all the 36 states based on pure merit to help me build a new Nigeria. If on my list which I will compile using social media and media sampling that I will make open to all Nigerians to nominate best candidate for various portfolios, and a Hausa person tops the rating for any position, God forbid I appoint an Igbo person to occupy such position. I will even be ashamed of myself as President if all key positions are occupied by Igbos. It can never happen under my watch, instead I resign. Nepotism has been what breeds division, corruption, stealing and sabotage in Nigerian government. Nigeria have never had good President since 1966, yes I said it and that is the main issue destroying Nigeria further |

Dear Oghenero, I truly understand your plight it was a very bitter experience no doubt. I ve seen from the comment section a whole lot of people vlaming d govt, d green passport all but few people spoke about d truth wc is d citizenry. We will always have issues in foreign lands if people that go to those places before us create a bad image of our country. Innocent people like u will pay for it, see dubai that with little or nothing we dey enter go relax. Nigerians still went there and ruin everything for us, d govt av tried to mend things but till now things aren't wat it us to be. We as youths and Nigerians have to create a very good impression of d country wherever we find ourselves, if not others will pay for it, just as u did. Its so unfortunate and sad, keep ur up bro. It shall be well |

My elders say...! "Na rat wey dey inside house dey tell rat wey dey outside how things dey sup." They say we average citizens are demarketing Nigeria to foreigners... And ask the following: 1. What is preventing those ruling from transforming the nation into something that can't be demarketed?!! 2. What will it take to permanently eradicate Corruption?!! 3. Why is it taking us this long to put a permanent end to Internet Fraud?!! 4. Why is there no widespread condemnation and sensitisation against drug trafficking?!! 5. Why are terrorists and criminals pampered across the nation, but peaceful protesters are handled with brute force?!! Nigeria might be eternally doomed already! Sigh! ![]() |

Tradepunter2:I only expressed my personal views focusing on my personal preference. I did not advocate for or against travelling or living abroad. Yet, you came out, jumped into the ring, fists raised and started throwing punches into thin air. Over what na. So I shouldn't be allowed to express my personal preference and experience. Intolerance and impatience, Very Nigerian, I guess. |

franchasng:I disagree. Nigeria isn't the poorest country in Africa, yet you don't hear about those countries on the news for these vices. Heck, we've had stories of Nigerians in the US and other 1st world countries involved in crimes. Would you blame that for lack of opportunities? What I see is lack of sound values and morals. Everyone wants to make quick money so they can oppress. That's the truth. |
