Telecommunications Studies is bland like Petroleum Engineering. What's Telecommunications outside Physics, Material science and Electrical Electronics Engineering.

I think it's better we stop confusing ourselves in this country. If we want to speak English, we select either the American English or British English.

In the United States, they call it program (for department) and course (for subject). They also call theirs graduate studies.

In the UK, they call it course (for department) and modules (for subjects). They also call theirs postgraduate studies.

In Nigeria, we keep switching between the two, confusing ourselves. You see people call department and subjects courses

Even the name is absurd.

But because one minister's pikin studied it, they made it a professional course. The very course that is only a branch of the well-known course called "Microbiology." But they even went ahead to push it for a "Doctor of Medical Laboratory Science." In some climes, even dentists and radiologists are not referred to as doctors but directly as their profession, even though their training is the same and even more than medical doctors. Very soon, they will push for technologists to be called engineers and engineers to be called technologists. That is what happens when illiterates take over power.

U are unintelligent. Medical laboratory science is a global course and it is not a Nigeria course. They are rooted in the act of clinical diagnosis of diseases and ailments. They are also rooted in molecular diagnosis of diseases and infectious diseases. All thanks to this fantastic group of people. 85% of empirical data in the hospital is being generated by the Medical laboratory scientists. They have come to stay, they are bomb and highly sought after.

Bro, you got it wrong. How can you say Medical Laboratory Science is a branch of Microbiology? FYI, MLS basically encompasses medical microbiology, hematology, histopathology, chemical pathology. It's a broad course that produces manpower for different areas of Biomedical Science/ Laboratory medicine.
Go and ask NUC why they're now considering physiotherapy, pharmacy and now medical laboratory science for doctorate classification

Your ignorance has refused you to know is that somethings were never meant to stand alone in some systems. Veterinary medicine was never meant to be a "doctor" but a skilled profession. Nursing was never meant to be a university program but a skill-based care course. A Quantity Surveyor was never meant to be a certified profession but a skilled based one. Now, talk more of common medical laboratory science.

Instead of learning, you dudes are quick to talk.

Everything studied in school can be studied on YouTube , if you are discipline, you can challenge all the lecturers in your faculty to open debate and beat them flawlessly, some of them are still using their 1975 lecture notes

I ones challenged my lecturer to open debate but he ran with his two heels touching the back of his head

The HOD asked them to retain me as assistant lecturer but I rejected the offer, I prefer to be DVC academic so I can reorientate all the lecturers

Classical Christian Education ; Part of Religious Studies

Community Health Science ; Part of Public health

Cooperative Economics and Management Studies; Part of Economics or Business Management

Doctor of Medical Laboratory Science; Is this supposed to be a postgraduate course? Will there still be BSC Med. Lab? This one is not clear


Geomatics Engineering Intelligence and Security Studies; This can stay

Parasitology and Entomology; Part of Microbiology

Sports Management; This can stay

Telecommunication Science; Should be part of IT, if the course exists in Nigeria

Water Sanitation and Hygiene , part of Public health

Islamic Economics and Finance



In summary, about 3 of the 12 courses ought to be established
