Well I'm not surprised. He had told us before that Adam n Eve eat their tithe that was why they were driven from the garden. His mentee told us poverty was what lead Christ to death. His father told us that Job lost everything because he didn't pay tithe. Brase up for the next.

Was peter truly poor? Please relax and read your bible with understanding. For the fact he was a fisher man doesn't make him poor, remember he had a net breaking catch and he becon on his friends to help him and two boat could not contain his catch.

“Truly I say to you that this poor widow put in more than they all did. For all of these put in gifts out of their surplus, but she, out of her want, put in all the means of living she had" Luke 21:3-4

I never listened to the man, but I can bet that Yall are blowing what he said way out of proportion. He couldn't have possibly, sanely meant Jesus hated the poor. I suspect he meant Jesus hated poverty and that would be on point. One of Jesus' main purposes was preaching to the poor.

One of the cardinal evidences of God's goodness towards a man is wealth, material blessings. God prides in blessing his people abundantly, richly and completely.

Jesus was anointed to preach the goodnews to the poor. In reaching out, they either come to you, or you go to them, the result is the same.

Peter was an entrepreneur. He wasn't poor. He could cater for his home and his mum.

Our dear pastor is clearly in the wrong. God loves the world. When you love people you visit them. Jesus coming to the world was God's way of visitation.

Peter it was who couldn't pay his tax and Jesus sent then to get money from a fish.

When you read, try & read with understanding.

Firstly, peter (formerly Simon) toiled all night to catch fish/s to pay his debts (taxes) but didn't succeed. He has already given up with expectations he will be arrested & jailed by the Romans (people with HUGE debts are jailed by the Romans in those days) . Someone that is rich can't be in such debt situation.

Secondly, so that Peter will not be distracted because of her mother inlaw who was sick in his home while he follows Jesus Christ, Jesus Christ came to his home to heal her sick mother in-law who's fever/sickness was becoming worse (at the touch of her body could nearly burn a skin because of her hot temperature from the fever). If Peter was rich, he could afford to care for her mother in-law through a doctor.

Mathew who was a rich tax collector dropped his riches to follow Christ although his house was later used to house some of the disciples when they came back to Capernaum. It was recorded that Matthew became poor after he started following Christ because he stopped being a tax collector that made him rich

Another, zebbedi & fisher man, who was the father of James & John was not recorded in the Bible to be a rich man BEFORE he met Jesus Christ. Even when Jesus healed the cripple in his house, Zebbedi wasn't recorded to be rich. It was recorded Zebbedi because rich AFTER he switched his fishing business to selling & supplying of olive oil to finance Jesus ministry.

Jesus never took offerings when & after he preached to people even though some of his disciples (Judas in particular) wasn't Comfortable with it. Arms given was a freewill thing but our today's So called pastors or men of God psychologically makes it mandatory as they emphasize so much on offerings.

In Lazarus house, who was successful in business in Nazareth, hosted Jesus & his disciples. In this case, Mary, sister to Lazarus broke an expensive oil on Jesus leg & used her hair to smear it. Judas, again measured the oil's worth/value as so much to finance their unrich/unwealthy ministry but Jesus rebuked him.

Jesus also said it will be easy for a camel to pass through a niddle eye than a rich man to enter heaven.

What that pastor said doesn't make sense & 90% of them are doing/teaching/preaching the opposite of what Jesus Christ did/taughted & preached.

Non of the disciples was rich or recorded rich AFTER they started following Jesus till their last days on earth.

Giving offering & arms was a free-will thing during the time of Jesus but today's Pastors makes it PSYCHOLOGICALLY mandatory with their illusional made consequences if you don't give arms or offering to the church.
