Where do you always travel to?
I guess southwest, because anyway you enter Benin ore road you go know.
By the way it's renewal since Bala blue enter.
It's now called E-CMR.
I just came back from same Benin-Ore road on Friday, was at udo community from Tuesday till Friday and no police asked me for CMR, and I no even give them any change at all.

I am surprised with what you are saying, because that particular paper is Isued by police themselves.
Another possibility is that you may have registered or renewed your papers when the paper was suspended and they eventually switched to ECMR which is now renewable.
They don't used to renew it before, it's for life then.
So I am surprised you said police checked your papers and never asked of it, maybe you renewed or registered during the window period sha.

This is why I advocate mass literacy. Na night school Pearl go. Certain things are beyond your comprehension.

To put things in proper perspective, understand what a road worthiness certificate means. It's like saying police has the authority to check if car tyres are worn out, or if car lights are working except when absolutely necessary or human lives are endeangered by it.

They are police, they are not an authority on everything and don't have absolute right or power.
I don't blame u. It's d anyhowness of the Nigerian system coupled with inefficient govt agencies. If not tell me why we have Traffic Police, Road Safety, VIO, Lastma, and the likes.
Reason why u think Police work is limited and restricted.
Let me school u; the Nigerian Police Force is the number 1, highest and central law enforcement agency in the country and can arrest and prosecute for all and any crime including illegal migration, smuggling, financial crimes, drug trafficking and espionage cases even when we have Immigration, Customs, EFCC/ICPC, NDLEA and SSS/DSS respectively, specially created to tackle these crimes.
So any crime, infraction, lawlessness or coming short of lawful requirements u can think of, is under the jurisdiction of the Police.

If ur full lights aren't working, or ur plate number is faded or obscured, if u carry overload or ur tyres are bad, if u jump traffic light or u drive with broken windscreen...any car documentation, road safety, vehicle condition and traffic management infraction is covered in their Traffic Regulations Book. If the Police wants to charge u, they can. It's just that the penalty for most of these things are very very small in their books that's why u will not see a Police man disturbing himself for small small money offences.
You must have a minimum of 8 Documents when driving. And they must be valid and current.
1. Allocation form
2. Police CMR
3. Proof of Ownership
4. Valid Vehicle Licence
5. Valid Road worthiness
6. Valid Insurance
7. All those receipts
8. Valid Drivers Licence

If u have changed ownership, or changed plate number or lost any of those documents and it can't be reprinted, u will need Police report and Sworn Affidavit.

Failure to provide all these, u are going to be doing ajo for law enforcement agencies. Unfortunately this type of ajo, u are never packing.

I been wan say a word is enough for the wise, but I sabi say u no wise, so u will learn by experience when u finally buy car.

I travel most of the time and I've never been asked for this, I wouldn't advise anyone to get the CMR since police aren't taking it that serious anymore...
No way u will not show Police CMR whether inside town or highway and they will let you go without roger. Maybe u don't know which one is CMR among your car documents.

When I did change of ownership for my corolla, this is all the documents I was given, there's nothing like CMR document in it (image below).

but, I checked my camry papers now, and CMR was among the documents, tho I haven't changed the camry papers to my name.

does that mean the person that did change of ownership on the corolla didn't complete the documents for me?

Several factors influence this:

- The driver's proactiveness, intelligence, and work ethic
- The car's perceived value, fuel efficiency, and overall condition
- The negotiation skills of both parties involved

At the moment, I believe the current rate is around 40–50k per week.

Which one is allocation form again?

Giving validation to your oppressors has always been the bane of the masses of this country. What moral justification does Nigerian Police even have to stand on the road and demand for car documents with the current insecurity we have in the country? Except when there's suspicion of car theft, they shouldn't even stand on the road for that purpose because government delegated that responsibility to other agencies to enable Police concentrate on fighting crime, doing that over stretches the system. You and I know that the only reason police stand on the road to check documents is to look for who to extort money from. The fine people pay to police for not having correct documents does not get to government unlike FRSC and VIO who have been saddled with that responsibility. They have the channels to fine eering motorists, such channels are never available to the Nigerian Police force. So?

But here you are condoning illegality, writing as if it's copy and paste from a primary school text book. No one needs to teach you knowledge sometimes, it's an innate ability that seems missing here.

And that's why these app companies rip you guys off. The fares as it is now are one of the cheapest in the world if not the cheapest, the worst I mean. Go figure. Some of you are doing charity work driving round Lagos without knowing it.

like, I'm just wondering how this CMR thing became a necessary document, no police have ever asked me for it even on travel highway.

allocation form is necessary tho, it's like a form you fill when registering a car in your name, police do ask for that sometimes.

And was made to be renewed every year, likewise proof of ownership.
