I want to get 05 EOD, though a number of people have discouraged me from getting it due to the ball joint issue. How can I prevent this issue when I eventually get it |
| Re: The HONDA Club by Macmilla(m): 4:57pm On Feb 05, 2025 |
united4men:There's a reason EOD is still everywhere on the road today, despite the so-called ball joint issue. If you want to know about Honda, ask someone that drives Honda. |

united4men:This issue is always blown out of proportion usually by ill-informed people to scare people away from buying Hondas. All cars (even the ones with MacPherson suspension) has the tendency of having a leg pull out if not properly taken cared of. Buy what you would love and enjoy driving. There's absolutely nothing wrong with a well maintained 7th gen Accord. For the record, I prefer the 7th gen Accord (aka EOD and DC) to the 8th gen Accord (aka Evil spirit) as I consider it a better car. |

Good evening house, I drive a Honda dc 2006, but I have a problem with its braking. First of all, the ABS light and brake lights on the dashboard are on, the brake light comes and goes, but my main problem is that when I am driving on the highway, on high speed, the brake is very sharp, in fact, too sharp for my liking, but occasionally, when in traffic or driving slowly and trying to get to a standstill, the brake totally fails, like doesn't work at all. It happened one time I was trying to join the highway and a man suddenly just walked into the front of my car, I was pressing the brake but the car totally refused to stop and was moving slowly towards the man, I was pressing the horn for the man to move away but it fell on deaf ears, I had to pump the brake a few inches away from the man before it stopped. The second scenario, a highlander was in front of me, trying to make a turn at an illegal/shortcut route, I was applying brake behind but it just slowed down and refused stop totally until I hit the highlander, the third scenario happened today, a civic was trying to turn while I was coming, the path was em not clear but you know Lagos drivers and their madness, he quickly entered the road expecting me to stop, and truly, even tho I had the right of way, I was applying brake but again, it refused to stop, it just slowed down until I hit the civic. The man couldn't complain cos he knew he was at fault, but the whole thing has me worried, has anyone ever faced this problem before? It never happens while on full speed, but only happens when I am moving very slowly. Going by this recent development, I go too bash cars for traffic o, all these started in less than 3 weeks, please help. |

Are you so stupid that you can't proffer solutions/suggestions without proving to the world that you are indeed a tout? I really hope it's you I see on the road when next it fails, I'll be doing the world a favor by eradicating one less fool. They can't jail me for car accidents after all. |

Replace if too old and there's more trouble if way low. You say it happens when you move slowly and try to stop, does the brake pedal get soft and go all the way down at this time? Any different feel to it compared to when it is 'sharp 'at high speeds? Your issue could just be pressure loss along the lines or something wrong in the master cylinder, any good mechanic can fix this within minutes. The same reason I always never expect vehicles to stop for me while I cross the road on foot or try to make a turn where I shouldn't while driving, one can never be too careful 😏, you should fix it as soon as possible, many Nigerians think walking fast or running while crossing the road takes out their "steeze" dem no sabi as e dey go, d car won turn you to Bashir like this. |

Make sure the vacuum hose to the brake is ok. It has a one way valve, test it first. Make sure you don't have a vacuum leak. |

Babatundehy:Thank you, my hydraulic is still guaged, I changed it around November, however, I will drain it and put a new one before I go to oyingbo to get it done when I have time sometime next week. For now, to drive the car dey fear me, yes, it only happens when driving slowly, the most recent one, when I stepped on the brake, it slowed down, then suddenly continued going normally, I pressed it till it went down, the time was too short to try pumping the brake, again, there were cars behind me, pumping it will most likely result in sudden stops, which I may now have to pay for someone else's car for a fault that isn't mine. Thank you for your response. Ps. Was your mechanic able to get it fixed? If yes, can I please have his number so he can sort mine out when I am ready?. |

The hose that goes into the brake booster has a one-way valve. Confirm if valve is still fine or facing right direction. |

Turbocharged vs naturally aspirated. Which do you prefer and why? What are the benefits of one over the other? Let's discuss. |
| Re: The HONDA Club by agoodman(m): 5:59pm On Apr 25, 2025 |
jceesquare:The 7th gen Accord is superior to the 8th gen. I drive a 2008 Accord but I'm going to buy the 2007 Accord soon as a second car. The 7th gen Accord is more refined and accelerates better from a stop than the 8th gen Accord. It's more beautiful too. |
| Re: The HONDA Club by Macmilla(m): 10:32am On Apr 26, 2025 |
agoodman:I actually agree with this. The only version of the 8th gen I like is the V6 coupe. I just love the simplicity of the 7th Gen. |
| Re: The HONDA Club by Sheuns(m): 5:31pm On Apr 26, 2025 |
agoodman:The 8th gen from 2010 to 2012 is actually better than any 7th gen. |
| Re: The HONDA Club by Cryomancer(op): 2:57pm On Apr 27, 2025 |
Sheuns:Hmmm... This isn't the case for me. Just like @agoodman mentioned, I also prefer the 7th generation due to the faster acceleration it has (for me). The fact that both generations share the K24 engine series is just makes me see no reason to get the 8th generation (for now). I'm just stuck with my EOD even after several opportunities to upgrade the car, but I just won't give it up. The 2017 Accord is the only generation I think I might move directly to when the time is right. |
| Re: The HONDA Club by Bola4boy(m): 3:17pm On Apr 27, 2025 |
Cryomancer:my own eod acceleration isn't that fast o. Even on express, smaller cars dey dust me. Gets worse if I put on ac. The only code I have Is the catalyst absence. I just changed my plugs to brand new no difference. Pls what else can I do? Not that it's worse but a 2.4l engine should get more power fah. It's 4plugs though |

Good afternoon all, I need a good honda mechanic in Benin.Who can recommend please |
| Re: The HONDA Club by cletz991(m): 3:46pm On Apr 27, 2025 |
I bought a naija used CRV .the check engine light and brake light is on on the dashboard. The car consumes so much fuel. Any advice? Cryomancer: |
| Re: The HONDA Club by Cryomancer(op): 8:32pm On Apr 27, 2025 |
Bola4boy:Hmmm... Does your engine burn oil and how is the timing too? Try checking the pressure of your engine. You can keep the engine running, then open your oil cap to see if the sound that comes out is mixed with air (that's a quick pressure test I was taught) I use same EOD and my acceleration is top notch. I rival cars on the road and I've been known on 3rd mainland bridge for my constant speed between 4:30 - 5pm daily. Kindly check your engine thoroughly... There must be an issue somewhere. |
| Re: The HONDA Club by Cryomancer(op): 8:38pm On Apr 27, 2025 |
cletz991:Please get your car scanned to ascertain the reason why that check engine light is on, because there are so many reasons why a check engine light comes on, and I'm sure you'll also get the culprit for your high fuel consumption when you get the car scanned. The break light that's also illuminated can also be caused by many things and this can be detected by a scanner. Firstly check to ensure your handbrake is not pulled out of position. Cc: jceesquare |

cletz991:Jceesquare Macmilla So you guys have anybody that you can recommend to this person? |
| Re: The HONDA Club by Bola4boy(m): 9:07pm On Apr 27, 2025 |
Cryomancer:it doesn't burn oil at all and didn't have any timing code. But I noticed something- when accelerating, it will hesitate only to pick suddenly. |
