We have just activated a feature that allows you to block people who irritate you for a period of time (currently a week).

When you block someone, you will be automatically blocked back by that person, so you won't be able to see each others' posts.

When the fixed period is over, you will both be released automatically, giving you another chance to treat each other better.

The admin, super-moderators, and moderators cannot block people or be blocked.

This is done by visiting the person's profile and clicking on the [Block] button.

Nairaland is a forum were people post randomly. Blocking someone is useless because you'll still come across their posts on random threads.
