Ibime’s personal bias against his kinsman is obvious and truthfully I sort of understand. This bias causes Ibime, irrespective of the circumstance or topic to defend and paint a failure like Buhari with lipstick. He expected more from kinsman but that never justifies his constant glorification of a failure like Buhari.

Presidents are often hostage to Business Cycles, not the cause of them

A President should be rated according to his reaction to either an upturn or downturn in a Business cycle and both Jonathan (upturn) and Buhari (downturn) performed woefully for their part of the business cycle

Neither of these Presidents control the price of oil which determines Nigeria's Business cycles.

During Jonathan time, the expectation was either he bolsters savings or building out of industries that will propel future growth. He did neither

During Buhari times the expectation is belt tightening and instead he became more profligate than Jonathan on ill advised infrastructure that won't achieve much ROI. Nigeria will be paying debts incurred under Buhari for decades.

I have only made 2 comments specifically on the ECA but as usual the PDP voltrons (Flint and Livelong) cannot see a comment about Jonathan without trying to defend and discuss Buhari.

I am simply a numbers man, a patriotic Nigerian who DGAF about us vs them politics. I have put myself on the line exposing some things I'm privy to about Buhari to Sowore and had to wipe my phone and all contacts with Sowore when he was arrested the next week for publishing the stuff I gave him. I no dey carry anybody for head.

In terms of pure numbers. Jonathan is the most profligate President in Nigerias history and the man who had the one opportunity to smoothen out financial headwinds we have faced over the last 10 years but wasted it, plus wasted the one that was handed over to him to store up for our future. The ECA he inherited at $50bln should have been $100bln plus by the end of his tenure given oil prices throughout his tenure, yet we entered oil downturn in minus. I can't keep repeating myself about Buhari who was a very poor President. Conversation is back-and-forth. I have criticised Buhari severally without comment, but PDP voltrons won't allow me drink and drop cup when discussing Jonathan without turning it into a long argument hence giving you the impression I am partisan.

Baba, my position on your takes is based your history of defending Buhari in a bid to slight your kinsman. I don’t think anyone remotely thinks Jonathan should be likened to the 2nd coming Desmond Tutu, however, your compulsion to denigrate your kinsman while excusing a total failure like Buhari is what I object to.

I struggle to see how you have refused to take into account the despicable levels of corruption that happened under Buhari. The numerous pardons of criminal elements that drained our country or the nonsense Mefi did!

Under this same Buhari we had our worst ranking using the Transparency Index but somehow, the sins of your kinsman trump Buhari’s and must be used to constantly excuse his failures.

It can't be far from the truth, regardless whether the numbers are exact or not. All I know is our foreign reserves are on paper only, that's why they are scrambling around for 3bln to protect Naira

Central banks are supposed to be independent for a reason. Emefiele really should be jailed for life for abuse of public trust at the very least
