There are Ijaw people in Ondo, Bayelsa and Rivers state but they not confused about their identity. A Nigerian fulani considers a fellow fulani from Niger, Mali and other countries more of a brother than a southern Nigerian.
Tribes and languages have been existing before geographical demarcation either in form of country or states.

My point is know your ethnicity irrespective of your geographical location. No body is claiming anything. I personally don't even count anybody outside the SE as igbo because I have lived with them associated with them and their thinking and behaviour is nothing like those in the SE so I personally would want them to be on their own but that doesn't change the fact that they are Igbos.

My point is the Igbos in Delta, Rivers, Kogi, Cross rivers, Benue and Edo should know their ethnicity because they have been Igbos before Nigeria came to be. Nationhood can change state can change but your ethnicity remains. For instance when I was in primary school our current affairs (in today's school it's 36 states and capital Abia Umuahia, Anambra Awka....... you know they recite it) didn't have these
states you listed maybe Rivers state. We had 12 states then. Nothing like delta igbo then because there was no Delta state. So tomorrow if another state is created it will still not change their ethnicity that is really my point state can change country can change but your ethnicity remains the same it doesn't matter where you find yourself.
