Kwara State governor should keep quiet, after sectionalised civil service employments for Ilorin indigenes he is now crying that Kwara lack doctors, Kwara South and North knew they have no chance so better for them to go to other sensible States who don't care where you come from when it comes to health care.

Maybe the pay is not attractive.
.
Is not only about the pay.. if the economy and country is good and better.. constant electricity light, the naira has value, low inflation, costs of living is low, transportation, house rent, school fees for children, foodstuffs is not too expensive and it's cheap, quality health care and health sector with government hospital that are in deteriorable and bad conditions conditions are rehabilitated, upgraded , built and provided with quality standard medical equipments..many doctors will not japa out of the country..it's the bad economy and country that is making them to japa
..

Why is that those three that japa came back? That shows no greener pasture anywhere however three of them are disgraced to japahood
You can see that the 'japa' might be to another state, not necessarily out of the country.

Like I said earlier, it is only going to get worse but by all means let's ignore this ongoing crisis and focus on developing primary health care plus other activities that make zero sense.

The fact still remains that no health care provider wishes to remain in this country because wages are terribly poor with absolutely no room for professional growth.
The problem is not only political, it is also systemic.
Let them remove the administration of our health care system from the hand of strictly doctors and into the hands of health care managers who will overhaul the system and restructure it holistically. Every medical practitioner will enjoy it.
The doctors are stiffening our health care system.
Our PHC system will not really grow due to this.
Doctors are not needed at primary health care facilities but from secondary and above, since it's not directly affecting them, they will not do the right thing.
Let us overhaul our health care system on Nigeria

This is the painful reality of brain drain. You can’t blame the doctors for seeking better pay and working conditions abroad.
It’s good that the Kwara State government is thinking long-term with sponsorship and retention plans, but we need urgent action too—better incentives, safer work environments, and real career growth at home. Otherwise, even the few left will keep disappearing.
All na tok until it touches them. Brain drain - politicians and office holders go abroad to meet these same Drs.

Increase salaries
If you pay the right amount would will come from abroad and work

Reprioritize, stop jumbo politicians salaries and corruption and hire great skills for great money, even if your state is know for only healthcare, you can grow revenue from that

£2300 or $3000?
For a doctor? Is that too much to pay to keep at least some of them in the country?
Re: Japa: ‘We Can’t Find Doctors To Recruit’, Kwara Raises Alarm by onyxo76(m): 6:41am On Apr 30, 2025
not just kwara state, a lot of teaching hospitals are looking for resident doctors to fill up vacancies but no one is turning up.
a lot of doctors are going to next door Gambia where they get at least 2000 USD monthly and then from there make their way to other countries when the time comes.
Nobody wants to sit down here and work in a non conducive environment with poor pay .

The pay is VERY poor in KWARA STATE, how I wish teachers can also JAPA, imagine level 08 step 2 being paid 75k. Level 08 step 2 in Oyo is earning 120k

The difference between level 17 in KWARA and level 17 in Oyo state is 135k.

I have a colleague though from OYO STATE working in KWARA STATE, the wife and children are in OYO STATE, the wife just got an appointment in Oyo, her salary is far far better than that of the husband working in KWARA STATE, the husband is now seeking for INTERSTATE SERVICE TRANSFER.

THE SCALE OF SALARY IN KWARA STATE IS GENERALLY POOR -IT CUT ACROSS ALL BOARDS
And they were requesting only Bsc for their teaching employment requirements this year while Oyo still employed HND and NCE as teachers.they want the best with low pay.
