The Chief of Defence Staff, CDS, Gen. Christopher Musa, has advised against the rush to migrate abroad, urging Nigerians to stay back and fight for the country.


Musa advised against the ‘Japa syndrome’ on Monday when he visited ailing personnel at the Defence Headquarters Hospital, Abuja, to mark Christmas and his birthday.

He urged all to exhibit love for the country, adding that running away is not a solution.


“We must stay and fight whatever challenge is. Those countries they are running to stood back and fought and got to where they are.

“If they had ran away, they would not have achieved that for them (Nigerians) to go and meet them.”

The CDS also called on Nigerians to take ownership of the challenges facing the country, adding that the security challenge should not be left for the Armed Forces and other security agencies.


According to him, insecurity calls for a collective effort and all Nigerians should put hands together to address the challenge.

“We cannot do it alone. We need the support of everyone. When you see something, say something, report as quickly as possible so that measures can be put in place adequately.

“We will continue to seek for support of members of the public to take ownership of our challenges.


“Nigeria is our own. If Nigeria succeeds, we all succeed, if Nigeria fails we all fail and we don’t want Nigeria to fail.

“So I call on all Nigerians to give us all the support,” he added.

We should all stay back and fight for Nigeria while you and your goons get jumbo pay, live exotic lifestyles, move with adequate security for doing absolutely nothing.

Millions are hungry, poverty has reduced their lives to nothing. Thousands are slaughtered like rams while the elites care less because it doesn't affect them in any way.

Someone I know is saving up to 5m monthly after tax and bills, this is someone who could barely save up 400k annually in Nigeria. If you've got a means, my brother leave that jungle and go hustle for a better life.

CDS, over 100 innocent villagers were slaughtered by well known fulani terrorists. You should lead by example by ensuring the killers are all arrested and equally killed. From historical times, man has relocated from one country to another in search of a better life. Joseph migrated Jacob's family to Egypt for a better life. Indians, Mexicans, migrate to US for better life. Chinese, Indians and Lebanese migrate to Nigeria to take advantage of opportunities that exist here.

What I am try to say is every human is free to relocate to wherever he wishes as long as his life will be better as a result.
