2027: Is Tunde Ednut Pressing Obidients’ Mumu Button? by Penguin2(op): 9:45am On Apr 30, 2025
Yesterday, I posted about Tunde Ednut’s declaration to support Peter Obi again in 2027 if he contests and I saw some funny comments on the thread.

Some comments read, “Tunde Ednut is pressing Obidient mumu button.”

Another read, “Tunde Ednut sabi use Obidients.”

Another reductionist who thinks Obidients are only Igbos and Obi is an Igbo affair wrote, “Tunde Ednut sabi use Igbos.”

But these comments left me with some curious questions…

Are these commenters saying that they accept that Obi is more popular and has more followers than Tinubu?

Or are they saying that Tunde Ednut would rather serve the interest of the few than the interest of the majority?

Anyone who knows how influencers work know that they move with the crowd. They go where the majority is. Because the need the numbers to stay relevant. Without the people (followers) any influencer would become worthless.

So, can Tinubu supporters tell us why Tunde Ednut would rather press the mumu button of the minority rather than press the mumu button of the majority?

Obedients are vocal on social media but inconsequential in real life.
Tunde ednut needs their engagement on social media to cash out.

People being vocal enough means they are the majority. How come the ones that aren't vocal enough winning elections if not through blatant rigging. Majority of Nigerians still believe Peter Obi won the 2023 presidential election.

Yeah. 6 people tweeting in a room. Inconsequential lots. These same inconsequential lots flogged Tinubu in his street. Voted him out of Lagos state. Voted him out of Abuja. Voted him in military pooling units. These inconsequential people got millions of votes without any structure. These inconsequential people have got APC running like scared rats against 2027.

Yeah, they are truly inconsequential.

Throughout the entire universe, it’s taken for granted that the loudest voices come from the majority.

That’s why the Parliament (all over the world) has a common way of deciding most of its resolutions and that is by asking members to say “aye” or “nay” depending on where they stand about a particular bill or proposition.

Usually, the presiding officer always decides by those whose voices are the loudest and proclaim either that “the ayes have it” or “the nays have it”.

But you want us believe, because you are Tinubu supporter, that in Nigeria, the most vocal are the minority while the quiet are the majority?

It's not rigging. Nigeria is not a normal country. Tribalism and illiteracy can make people win elections when you think they will lose. Most northerners are illiterates and sheepishly follow what their leaders tell them. So all those elitist votes you have in Abuja and Lagos will be swept aside by tsunami of northern votes. That's why people like obi will struggle to win. He's smart and that's why you see him trying to make inroads into the north.

But still ended the journey in 3rd place.
If we say Tinubu rigged the elections, how come Atiku came 2nd with the so called 'majority' Peter Obi had?

cc: Mbanda

I would gladly love Tinubu voted out but Atiku and Peter Obi are a no no for me.

Point of correction; I would gladly love Tinubu voted out in the next election but Atiku and Peter Obi are not alternatives in my own book.

Winning online poll is entirely different from winning the main election.

Did the online poll make Peter Obi the president?

Social media popularity often does not imply real-life popularity. During the last elections, PDP deputy governor candidate Funke Akindele claimed to have more followers on social media — but the election results showed otherwise

Once Peter Obi or obidients are mentioned they switch off logic and enter mumu mode.

Tunde ednut is an influencer. Influencers are paid to press mumu button. He's been paid for a job and he must keep his end of the bargain which is akin to a criminal lawyer who must defend a client found guilty. Obidients are being psyched grin

Yes. You remember “there is no polling unit on social media”?

You lots said it a lot before the 2023 elections but after reality check after the results, una no dey talk am again.

When you saw polling results say Obi will win Lagos, you people said it was online polls but what happened?

E go still shock una again.

And thence comes my question, why would Tunde Ednut go with the minority rather than the majority if Tinubu supporters were truly in the majority?

In almost every country, anti-government usually have more say on social media because they can promise eldorado easily.

Go on TikTok and Twitter, anything against Trump sells like wildfire. Go to UK forums, anything against the ruling party usually get engagement. It is normal.

In the last Edo governorship election, Akpata boast that he won Tunde Ednut poll by huge margin. However reality on Election Day is quite different coz the guy lost woefully.

In most cases, social media confirm when it’s a military or a controlled countries like China et al.
