Indian Doctor Successfully Corrected A Club Foot, After After 11 Months - Health (2) - Nairaland

What the Indian doctors did is called the Ponsetti method for correction of Equinovarus deformity in children and is commonly done at many hospitals in Nigeria

These were done in a hospital in Jos, Nigeria.
What you see here is complex, multiple stage, corrective osteotomies done by skilled surgeons at one of Nigeria’s oldest private orthopedic facilities.

Note the extent of the rotation of the feet posteriorly (backwards) and the correction.

They aren't poor. In the last 10 years, India removed over 175 million people from poverty. That's over 70% of Nigeria's population. In the last 10 years, Nigeria has sent over 50 million people into poverty.

Leadership is what makes the difference. India has over a billion people with a poverty percentage lesser than Nigeria.

"Ponceti procedure" is what they do. U can check it up.let me check if I have pictures of the cases I saw during my orthopedic posting

Indians are not poor as perveived. They accepted western concepts in science,medicines and general Education. But rejected western culture and religion.
They are stuck to their ancient traditions and belief plus the west frustrated their political stability back then, which affected there economy as well.

Thank you. I was about to say this.
As far back as 1992/1993 I had that surgery done on me at Igbobi as a baby because I also had a club foot and it was successful. I have never had issues with my legs in over 30 years.

This post makes me reflects on God's goodness because this month of May is my birthday. Imagine if we didn't have this back then even?
