The emboldened is very necessary and there's a private hospital we're registered in. But the hospital is damn expensive and we've only used it once, and that was because doctors in public hospitals were on strike.

It was in 2019 I think. Small drip wey dem administer for my daughter with 3-days worth of floranom, antibiotic syrup, Zinc sulphate tablets, and ORS wey dem give us, I pay 50k.

Since that day, I dey always pray make Doctors in public hospitals no go strike.
It’ll cost like 250k now for the same treatment.

Omo, when I was working at Marina I knew Lagos Island na hell on water when it rains.

There was a particular Friday it rained maybe 2021 or 2022, most of the cars parked in Car parks within Marina were floating on water.Come and see how executives rolled their trousers to use leg enter the flood that day. A lot of people abandoned their cars in the office and trekked to the bus stop to take buses home.

The drainage system on the Island is 4cked up.

it is also why lagos banned plastic bags and styrofoam, but they dont want to follow through

festac gets completely flooded during heavy rain because rubbish blocks the drains leading into the canal

Same with ikeja, there should be a way of tackling this frequent flood anytime it's raining why will Lagos not smell.
Government have ban this soft takeaway because it's part of the reason we experience flood.

While ban of takeaway packs and disposable plates may be a step in the right direction, there are a whole lot of other items that block drainaages that are not yet banned. PET bottles of coke and Fanta are still there, nylon of pure water, normal polythene bags for carrying items, etc all block drainaages.

Then we have areas in Lagos where the drainage system there are non existent. U will see houses that have been built since the 60's that don't have functional drainaages.

Ọmọ! If u Don work for the main Lagos island and vehicles dey carry u pass ìsàlẹ̀ eko wella, u will see sewage trucks (fàgbẹ́ fàgbẹ́) still dey come carry shiiit from people house in the 21st century. Shey na area with those kind houses Wan get functional drainage system?

The issue is even if government wants to help them it will lead to a lot of houses being demolished and most of them are not ready to make such sacrifices.

If a place has no drainage, it will be wet/flooded everytime.

The problem is that the drainage may be blocked, or as at when it was constructed, it was for a lesser population in mind. When the rain is heavy, all it takes is a longer time for the water to be drained

Lagos Island is very small, so asking for a big drainage means a lot of demolitions.

Tinubu and his people’s motto: If we can’t finish Nigerian citizens with hunger, we should finish them with propaganda. Very shameful matter! Useless president!

LOL. Mad man.

I had to trace back several clicks to the original post. #200,000 to #350,000 monthly for React and Angular is paltry. But you'd be surprised there are people who'd do it for that amount.

Learning a skill is one thing. Putting a premium on your skill is another thing, and offering a whole galaxy or satellite of services/skills to boost it. Same way there are doctors accepting #200,000 as salaries in Nigeria after 8 years combined of tertiary education. It doesn't make them less skilled than those paid $20,000 monthly.

For example, most state government websites are built on WP and only partly custom-coded in CSS.. But I know a least two firms charging no less than #7 million for just maintenance. Not to build it but to maintain it which is just security scans and software updates like twice a month.

I also use to know someone who could code in no less than 8 programming languages before I could write an HTML code. And within two years, I had made more from coding than him.

There are people (mostly students) who'd take up the offer, paltry as it seems. It mostly depends on the premium you place on your skills and opportunities you explore.

thats why i said LASG does not always follow through

pure water was banned from janaury 1 this year, but somehow it is not in effect
plastic bags were also banned, especially from supermarkets, but now they are doing some kind of surcharge thing instead where you pay for the bag

i had expected no pure water from january this year, but here we are.

If they ban pure water, what would be the alternative?

Many homes use sachet water for drinking.

I don't think banning pure water can ever work, especially when everyone is responsible for their water issues

What's the alternative if LASG follows through with the ban on pure water or is the water corporation supplying water to homes?

No be everybody fit afford bottle water & water dispenser.

Giving incentives for recycling no matter how small, is the best solution but we'll rather steal money and buy gold plated brassieres or take trips to the south of France to feed our dusting powder addiction

Exactly

Every LG should partner with the pure water companies in their region, and see how they can make the area cleaner. Either through incentives, or employing more locals to clean the area

How can banning pure water work?
