I bought baby things close to 1million for my lovely wife.
But my friend said it too much.

Please is he right?

After all it's your money. It appears you are really making money. If you have used half of that am5to invest for the unborn baby it would have been better

You'd likely spoil this child with gifts and everything the child wants....

Whether the money is there or not..... your duty is to provide necessary things for the child, like feeding and a conducive dwelling place..... then learning materials for kids of different age.

Why are you bothered about what your friend thinks about your spending for your family? What you should be concerned about how easy it is for you to raise and spend whatever you spend for your family.

If you borrow to live like the Jones, then that's wrong but if it is affordable to you, you are good to go.

Oh, wow! It's been ages. Congrats on the new addition. Your friend may have made that comment out of the excesses of his mediocrity and inane value for family. Its best to define a wide chasm between your friendship with this fellow and your family affairs. Do what you believe is best for your family and that includes splurging when the resources are there.

Avoid that friend of yours,he is just jealous because he cannot afford or give out what you can give yo your baby.

Nothing is too much for your child,and some of this things can be reused for the next baby if used well.

His opinion does not matter. Give that your friend,an arm's length, because he can poison you,if the opportunity presents itself.

Some will have the money,but can't spend it! Very greedy people, please face your family,and keep your winnings far from him,to avoid had I know.

It's better to buy assets for kids instead of stuffs. To your question, are those items a MUST HAVE for a baby? If the answer is no you, then your friend is right. The worse part is the baby will likely not remember any of those items.

My advice, buy stocks or lands for the child and hand it to him/her when he turns 20. That will do a lot of good than this.

How long have you been friends?

No amount spent on a new born baby that it's too much or too small, you only did according to your financial status but if you go collect loan or lend money to get all this, then you ain't financially smart.

They made things easy for my wife .
For example when baby is sleeping and my wife want to cook if I de watch ball😂they will just strap her in her swing …instead of putting her in the room make she no go fall

Don't stress yourself, he's yet to understand the joy that comes along with having a blood.

But try as much as you can not to always disclose the amount you got things to him in order to avoid envyness
