After WW2, Germany and Japan allined themselves with the US. both for security and economic aid, Fast forward to today, Japan is the second largest economy in Asia, the third largest in the world, while Germany is the biggest economy in Europe..

After WW2, Korea was portioned into two, North Korea and South korea, one allined itself with the USA, both for security, government style and economical aid, the other the Soviet Union, fast forward to today one is a developed country with a robust economy,among the largest in the world, while the other is a regressive regime still battling food shortages.. One is a economic powerhouse the other is not.

There's is a reason why countries in the middle-east allined themselves with the US, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Oman, Kuwait, UAE, etc are all Western allined, is the US the only country in the world?? if they weren't getting any benefit, they won't warm up to the US.

People tend to be critical of US military bases around the world, the question this, the US won't site a military installation without approval from the host country, many middle-eastern countries understand the security and commitment that the US brings to the table, the Kuwaiti war, the Korean war, the Vietnam war all this are examples of US military engagement on behalf of allies half way around the world.

If you want to replace the US, then start doing the things the US is doing..

You've said it all. While I maintain that US is not a saint, you can't also downplay the roles they've played in the development of their allies. They hate the US which is fine, yet the US has a track record of making its allies economic powers, from Japan, to South korea, to Israel, to Germany, to France, to Kuwait, tp Taiwan, Canada, Australia, even the mighty China, without the US opening China to the world she won't be the mighty dragon she is today.

All these countries are beneficiary of either US military power or US economical aid.

How many countries can you name and say Russia put them on the map?? Russia was instrumental in their economical development??.

Look at Belarus a country that borders Russia, she is nothing to write home about, yet they are shouting multipolar world.

I sometimes wonder how Cuba would have turned out to be if they weren't under the cloak of the castros. She would have been heaven on earth.
