Rufai Oseni: Has President Tinubu done well economically?

Governor Otti: Ok, this is one question I may not be able to answer, you know why?

Rufai Oseni: Why?

Governor Otti: Because I have access to him and so I can always discuss with him. So, it will be unfair for me to come in front of the camera and be assessing him. Again, today is just 23 months into the administration, still early days.

Rufai Oseni: Did you call President Tinubu and tell him he was unfair when he declared a State of Emergency in Rivers?

Governor Otti: No. You are also going into an area I said I will not discuss.

Rufai Oseni: But it's not fair...

Governor Otti: Listen, I won't discuss people, I won't discuss other States and I won't discuss the Federal Government.

Rufai Oseni: Did you also share that private opinion when you see an optic inflation despite rebasing, 24%, the numbers are gloomy and they are saying it might go up 37% in a couple of years, and you guys sit in the economic team with the President, do you ever say Mr President l, we are sinking, we are going under?

Governor Otti: Did you start sinking today? We didn't start today. We have been sinking and living in denial.

Rufai Oseni: So, is it not worth telling him?

Governor Otti: No no no, I mean yes we go for meetings,

Rufai Oseni: So, you support the subsidy removal, right?

Governor Otti: Of course, subsidy removal was long overdue and what was happening? What was happening was that big men like you and I were enjoying....

Rufai Oseni: Your Excellency, I am not a big man

Governor Otti: You are a big man. For you to live in VI, you are a big man. Infact, I am even afraid of you. When I heard you were living in VI, you know in Lagos, I use to stay at Lekki, I couldn't afford VI. So, subsidy was a scam, we were just needed to do something about it. Overtime, the floating of the naira and the subsidy removal came at the same time but I believe if we keep at it, the economy will rebound.

Rufai Oseni: But the Naira is losing its value steadily, do you tell that to people in your state?

Governor Otti: It's very unfortunate but some sacrifices must have to be made. If we don't make them today, we will make them tomorrow or the economy will go up in flames.

Otti was actually in APC previously. He decamped to LP.

It was "You know who" who asked Otti to leave APC to LP when OUK refused to give Otti peace in APC. This was when OUK was supporting Lawan.

Otti is a boy to "you know who", that's why he shut Obidients up when Obidients tried to tie Otti's electoral success to Peter Obi. He reminded them that he joined LP before Obi and indeed under APGA, he won the 2015 Abia election he was robbed of.

Why do you need his validation and endorsement when Uzodinma and Nwifuru of APC are very much available.

All South East Governors are supporting Tinubu. All of them.

Most of the governor are only fooling their followers! You can not comment on the illegality being committed in Rivers State by removing the democratically elected governor despite being an opposition government. I used to tell people that most of Nigeria political leaders are almost the same. From T-pain to Atiku and Obi,Otti or any other leaders. This is politics of selfish interests. Anyway,I still prefer Atiku and Obi to lead Nigeria come 2027
