Hello chief,I will like to know some non coding areas one could reach into.
Thank you.
Technical Support. Provides a good starting base. Then you can diversify from there

Do you have a course recommendation for one to get into this?
I really appreciate.

I do. But I cannot mention any. The antispam b07 bans me with reckless abandon when I mention anything. Even if I defang and/or "obscure" it.

Go through my post history to find out how to reach me

You should be able to find materials on "you dare me" or "cores era". Read between the lines. Also A+ and Network+ from Comptia are good materials to get you started. If you are interested in Networking, CCNA (from Cisco) and MTCNA (from Mikrotik) are good starts.

Bros, this is not true. cheesy

There are still tech jobs in Nigeria. We can argue that the salary and work conditions are not the best but at least, tech still has more jobs than other sectors in Nigeria.
Nigeria ke, haven't worked for Nigerian tech in 7 years or so, no one is striving to earn naira as a techie.

But the tech ecosystem in Nigeria is much friendlier. Newbies with good portfolios can easily get jobs, unlike outside Nigeria, where you compete with a supposedly high number of seniors posing as juniors because they have no jobs. Tech jobs are even at their lowest in the US now, anyone traveling to the US now for a tech job should just forget about it.

This isn’t true. If one can’t get a job in the USA, where do they want to get it? China? Europe? Where exactly?

Yes but let's see depends on the pay , but you're right about seniors posing as juniors , but the pay doesn't usually help as much.

Tech hiring is in its lowest right now in the US, and companies are still laying off people.

The pay is poor in Nigeria but at least juniors can get a role and build their CV from there, in the UK I haven't seen any Junior Software roles since January. It's either you see a Mid-level role with 5 years plus experience or Senior. Nobody is hiring juniors again as far as I know. The bar is too high now.

Yes but if one can’t get a tech job in the USA. Where else will they get it?

You will, but as this thread is referring to someone just starting out their career in tech, it is tougher to do as a newbie. A junior in US searching for job at this time will most likely not get.

Nigeria still hires juniors now because it's a developing nation. So I'd advise people to stay in Nigeria & learn very well, do as many internships as they can because nobody will give you an opportunity as a Junior once you step outside Nigeria.

Also, the technologies popular in each country differ. For example, right now, it is Flutter that is popular in Nigeria due to Google's constant sponsored meet-up events. Then React for frontend. One time it used to be Laravel PHP.

So it's still a good try in 2025 for a newbie to try this path
